Default So another addition was made to the show as it was on it's last leg? lol

The new girl in town, Monica. I had gotten used to seeing Della and this monica and was not in the episode that introduced Monica. I see she is on the remainder of the season. Damm this addition was weird

Seems like this show’s agenda is to constantly add new characters to fill “the void” no matter how lame or uninteresting they are.

This show was like a woman with front two missing teeth trying to get a new hairstyle

LOL. It seems this show can never get right after Freddie Prince’s death.

They tried to keep the show going after Freddie's suicide by adding new characters but nothing worked well and they should have just cancelled it.

Dennis The Menace continued for another season after Joseph Kearns died, Gale Gordon replaced Kearns as Mr. Wilson but Jay North didn't have the same acting chemistry with Gale Gordon like he did with Joseph Kearns. Looks wise, Gale Gordon was perfect for the Mr. Wilson role but Jay North had the better on screen chemistry with Joseph Kearns.

The show really tried to recover from Prinze's death during the fourth season. First, they introduced a new "Chico" in Raul. Then, mid-way through the season, they bring on Charo for a while. Then, they brought on Monica for the final six episodes (in production order). I give them credit for trying to fill the void but obviously, it just wasn't to be. A Chico-less Chico and the Man was never going to be a hit. It also didn't help that Della Reese was only in the first 13 episodes before vanishing without explanation (again, in production order).

I do wonder, however. What if someone had never seen an episode with Freddie Prinze and started watching the show in season four. Without being able to compare it to the Prinze episodes, would season four have been okay?

I think George Lopez is a lot funnier than he was. The show was overrated to me after finally being able to see it. The character wasnt funny to me at all. Now Im not sure if his standup was better but the character was nothing special

I actually did that by watching an episode with Della (3rd season) and then a Raul episode (4th season). I think the series is strong with cranky Jack. I also enjoy seeing Scatman in the series. The only character who didn't work for me was Monica.

It's the same girl that you mentioned when you started this thread.
