two different pilot being worked on for Scatman Crothers to sell to NBC for a TV series for the Fall of 1978. One show was going to be called "Way Down Yonder" that would have Scatman would playing a New Orleans Gambler who owned a night club called Club Cumbo. The other show was going to be named "Going Strong" that would have Scatman playing a senior citizen swinger who moves into a retirement home and leads the residents into a uprising.

Yeah, I think NBC was right to pass on those. Neither sounds to me like they would be hits (or very good).
Do you think a spin-off for Louie could have worked? Perhaps, he was a one-note character that only would work as a supporting player. |
