Hulu Acquires "Run the Burbs"
Hulu Buys Canadian Comedy "Run the Burbs"
by Max Goldbart December 22, 2023 Canadian comedy "Run the Burbs" has been picked up by Hulu for its second window in the U.S. Fifth Season struck the deal with the streamer for the comedy with the first two seasons set to drop on Hulu on New Year’s Eve, a few days before the third launches on Canada’s CBC. The deal is second window and is unrelated to The CW‘s acquisition over the summer. The comedy was, however, pulled a few weeks ago from The CW linear but remains on its app and website. Fifth Season TV Distribution President Prentiss Fraser hailed “incredible home-grown hits” on CBC including Schitt’s Creek, Workin’ Moms and Kim’s Convenience. “Run The Burbs is definitely a continuation of this tradition,” she added. “Hulu is the perfect partner to bring the Pham family to audiences in the U.S., and we couldn’t be more excited for Andrew’s hilarious, uplifting and inclusive project to launch on the service. https://deadline.com/2023/12/hulu-bu...cw-1235680678/ |
