I really liked her character as Joanne St. John. She was even nominated for an Emmy Award in 1989 as best supporting actress in a drama. I wish that she had continued as the Chief's girlfriend for more seasons. Does anyone know why she left the series?

I agree. I really liked her character. Wish she had stayed on the show.
