You might be talking about Homefront. I don't think it was exactly a sitcom, more like a drama from what I understand. I believe it was set around WWII and it starred Kyle Chandler (who later went on to star as Gary Hobson on Early Edition)

I think the Goodlife TV Network currently airs that. Their site is www.goodtv.com if you want to check it out. A trader by the nick "Will and Grace Rox" receives that station, I believe. If you post in the Tape Trading forum, I'm sure she'll respond.

The show you're talking about is indeed "Homefront." It aired ABC from 1991 to 1993, and was a primetime soap. It was about the lives of WWII GIs and their families after the war. The name of their city was River Run. Kyle Chandler played Jeff Metcalf, a baseball player who was having a relationship with his brother's girlfriend when his brother was at war. Among the other characters: Ruth and Mike Sloane (Mimi Kennedy, Ken Jenkins) who own a big factory. Their household help are Gloria and Abe Davis (Hattie Winston, Dick Anthony Williams), an African-American couple. Ruth's son Mike died at battle, after getting an Italian woman, who is also Jewish, Gina (Giuliana Santini), pregnant. Ruth, who is predjudiced, doesn't take a liking to Gina, but when Gina gives birth to her baby Emma, they are drawn closer. More on Jeff Metcalf's story: His brother Hank (David Newsom) proposes to his girlfriend Sara Brewer (Alexandra Wilson), who still has feelings for Jeff. Jeff, however, gets a girlfriend, named Ginger Szabo (Tammy Lauren). Jeff becomes Ginger's helper on her cooking TV show. That's basically the set-up. The show comes on Goodlife TV on Mondays @ 9:00PM (central) and Wednesdays @ 10:00PM (central). The Monday episode is a repeat of the episode from the previous Wednesday.
NOTE: This show was made by David Jacobs, the man behind "Dallas," "Knots Landing," and "Falcon Crest." |

Well I've taped several episodes of this show now and I'm really enjoying it. I remember it being on but I never watched it. I cant' wait to watch the show progress - I can't decide if I like Tammy Lauren's "Ginger" or not. Right now I think she's a big ole beeyotch!!!!
Great show - Crushedvelvet if you are interested in copies, please email me. |
