Anyone here have a membership to this site??? If so please contact me. I'm looking for something on there and I'm willing to do a trade to get them.
Thanks |

Ooh, when they went to paid "'Emberships" and other forms of extortion, I gave up just like I gave up on The Original Trilogy site which relies so heavily on that scene.
Good stuff to be had if you have an unlimited supply of good stuff to keep The Elite happy. Or, lots of BitCoin to spread around. Rotsa ruck. The Elite loves to announce collections posted but nevereverever want to share or trade. Oh, and you should only refer to it as The Organ b/c it's so secret nobody knows it's a private Torrent tracker. |

It's either that or you have to have something so ultra-rare and plentiful to upload and build a share ratio (your entire collection must be documented and submitted for evaluation to see if you're worthy), then (unlike The Elite) you must maintain your share:d/l ratio otherwise they'll kick ya' out in a second. And, don't DARE ask for anything. "Begging" is verboten. Used to be a good place. Used to. |

It's the same thing as "trading" on this forum or elsewhere, but instead of 1 person, its multiple. If the admin is asking for cash for invites, more than likely it's donations for server costs, Running a tracker isn't cheap month to month. |

It is a little annoying being left out. Thing is, back in the day I had plenty to share and the Ee-Lites took what they wanted quite freely. Once their collections were satisfied, my presence was no longer required. Getting ousted after fulfilling the Ee-Lites' greedy needs is a bit of Dirty Pool, no? Fair/unfair..? Whatever. There are members-only share sites on other platforms that I'm now involved with where people can ask for and just post stuff they think others will like without wanting anything in return. No money changes hands. Most files are on decent, free servers or cloud drives that the owners maintain just to store/share their collections on, and so-called members don't get weeded out just because their "ratios" don't please The Ee-Lite. And, Organ Ee-Lites might be upset to know that their precious collections have been leaked and shared without payback, trade or compensation. That fact may rankle them and have them shouting "Unfair! I spent money and traded so much!" and so on. Whole series' (is that the right plural?) like the A-Team broadcast restoration, the Married.. with Children restored eps that were s'posed to be exclusives? They're out there. I didn't get those by trading or spending money. I just asked in the right place and someone goes, "Oh, that's on this drive here," and sends the link. One or two 'Spleeners might be upset that I actually have a copy of the long-thought-lost "International Animation Festival".. the one with Jean Marsh, but ain't sharing. Maybe I'll put it on archive dot org one day, but all that exhausting and uber-expensive digitizing and time spent laboring over transferring it from a flash drive.. I don't know how I'll recoup the cost.. [/satire] I'm just bitter b/c I can be! Lulz!!

I know some people on the Lost Media Wiki who are on myspleen so I pretty much just have them get stuff from there for me that I can't find on Usenet or TV Vault.

Don't they have a forum for that?
Oh well: Asking rarely works anyway, just look at this forum section. Pretty much ONLY people posting "ISO" about what they want. Most torrent sites (not speaking specifically about myspleen that I know of) are sadly run by people who are either a-holes, very dim, or both. |

Idk, there have been instances here where someone asks for something that I happen to have, usually one missing show or one specific title, and I'll pass it on to them. I don't tend to expect anything in return. My favorites are the folks who love to watermark the videos they transfer, like saying, "I own this exclusively" or the jerks (one in particular) who ruin videos on purpose with "Not For Broadcast" in one area of the screen AND a timecode in another part. Those are the types who are trying to migrate to Patreon to get people to cover all their transfer costs, but only dole out the "ruined" copies so they're not "de-valued". And I'm still seeing people here who are generously offering small items for great quantities of cash, despite the """rules""", as they say. S'okay if its rrrrare material, though! Lulz!! |

Oh I would, if I could, fill requests. Some "new" stuff IS found - just not every day.
Turn-on appearing on youtube for example, or a few episodes of On the rocks. The other side is that most people expect it all to happen automatically, and won't do legwork or pay money! (When it comes to that, the "not for broadcast" guy that I know scans his own 16mm prints, I think. So that speaks in his favour.) |

A lot of comments I'm seeing from people who have never been to estate sales to buy collections and digitize.

I've had some help, but never charged for anything, and did get a few swaps of which only 2 are marked Not For Share for reasons. The stuff that I've put out is, well, still out there. And, I don't own copyright on any and some is actually public domain now. When I posted the stuff, it was with no charge. And without watermark. And no restrictions (yes, I've had threats from people claiming that I had to have their express permission to post still images from "their" films that they did not produce nor do they own copyright, only copied from borrowed prints). The collector-collective is a weird, self-sustaining ecosystem all to its own, where common sense and normalcy take an illogical turn, like an Esher or Dali painting. And some of those collectors have gladly grabbed some of what I have put out there, slapped some fake Not For Broadcast-type graphics on some and shared/sold/what-have-you on their own terms. Even had one dude desperately and unsuccessfully trying to sell some material to a major video label as an attempt to cajole them into releasing the film with "his" footage, giving him credit and a piece of the profit. Those are the kind of people who ruin (say it Southern: roo-ween!) the whole scene, baby! Sharers gonna share. Hoarders gonna hoard. Opportunists gonna take advantage. It can be frustrating. |
