So, I decided to dress up as Robert Stack for a Halloween Party last night. My friends were intrigued by my costume, and I told them who I was. Someone I was interested in said they never heard of this show, so we’re gonna meet up on Sunday and watch a segment.
Which segment would you recommend? |

D.B. Cooper was one of the many well-done segments from the first seasons. I might pick that one. Certainly one from the early years of the show.

The old guy in the steamer trunk. No, no, just kidding. That would scare the living daylights out of them.
Angela Hammond segment comes to mind, or Cindy James. |

My first thought was Matthew McConaughey but the Larry Dickens case is so terribly sad. Maybe the Son of Sam segment? Gives you an excuse to watch two episodes...Or both of the Elliot Ness segments! Let us know how it goes |

The aphrodisiac segment of course. Or the fertility statues one.

My suggestion is to explain the various categories of mysteries and ask them which sounds the most fascinating to them. Simply pick your favorite from that category.
Next, ask them if they prefer to be scared or intrigued. If they don't like scary segments, go with something like Howard Drummond, Don Kemp or Keith Reinhard, along with another good Lost Heir. Those are just great for generating conversation, but let's hope they like to be scared! Better chances for you, lol. |

You have to love the writing in season 9. I'd probably go with "Look at it Omar" just because it fits Halloween I'd hold off awhile before showing them a segment about someone getting kidnapped or brutalized in some way unless you know the person is a true crime aficionado like we are |

Show them the weird angel guy in the ice cream truck hit n run segment. See if they react to the angels face lol.
Or do face on Mars. Or men in black. After showing them a classic UM segment maybe also show them a portion of a popular sports event during the same year as the UM segment? Like "best of that year's nfl superbowl" clips on youtu.be or a sports classic like wrestlemania 9 or wrestlemania 11?
