Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and commercials - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In it's history there are two other reasons why Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade becomes the most watched parade every year besides the amazing Rockettes and the excitement of the thrilling arrival of the celebrity of the holidays Santa Claus at the end is the amazing balloons and floats. But have you noticed that some of the floats and balloons are based on commercials? Since their debut in the 80's commercial balloons and floats are always a hit. Why you may ask? Because there are fans who adore them. And now let's look at some commercial floats and balloons that have been in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade,
1. Pepperidge Farm Goldfish float,
This float which was introduced in 2016 is an amazing float created by Pepperidge Farm to honor Pepperidge Farm Goldfish and is pretty cute. Although retired in 2018 this was the only Goldfish float seen in the parade. Maybe we shall see balloons of the Goldfish characters someday
2. Quik Bunny balloon,
Perhaps the most famous commercial mascot balloon of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade the Quik Bunny was introduced in 1988 and had the record of being the longest running balloon in parade history,
3. Kraft Cheeseasaurus Rex balloon,
In 2001 Kraft Macaroni and Cheese's mascot Cheeseasaurus Rex made his parade debut dressed as a policeman with an NYPD baseball cap to honor 9/11 but over two years he had different outfits but there is some rare missing footage from his final parade where he is missing for no reason and was shortly retired
4. Sinclair Dinosaur balloon,
This well known mascot of the Sinclair Gas Station commercial made it's debut and is one of my favorites because I love dinosaurs and will return with a new look in this year's parade
What is the obsession with commercials and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? We will never know the answer because they are so great
