I Didn't Know He Moonlighted On THE VIRGINIAN! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

This is just too much of a Coinky Dinky, I refer to the name of Hazel's on again off again boyfriend, Enzo Martinelli. While watching The Virginian at the end of each episode I read the credits and Kablowy! there was the name Enzo Martinelli as doing something or other on the show (I can't remember everything there) BUT I do definitely remember that name popping up at the end credits of many many Virginian episodes. Now this has just got to be where the writers came up with that name, it's just too unusual to be a quirk of fate. Someone on the Hazel staff must have known this guy Enzo and so gave Hazel's boyfriend the same moniker.

Now that's a fun factoid, eh?

It sure is. I remember my grandmother used to go apesh** over The Virginian. I’m going to see what else he shows up in on YT, and see if any Virginian eps are there.

Not to confuse the two Enzo's, but the actor who played Enzo on Hazel also appears in many other TV series of the early '60s. I know I've seen him several different times in Perry Mason and Warner Bros. TV dramas of the time like either 77 Sunset Strip or Hawaiian Eye or Bourbon Street Beat at least one of these. He makes a good bad guy. So not only did the real Enzo work on another show but the Enzo actor also appeared in other shows.

Yes the name does appear on The Virginian credits as Enzo Martinelli, but Hazel's boyfriends is slightly different. He is Enzo Martelli.
