Thumbs up I met a celebrity

I actually met a celebrity tonight. I met Bruce Campbell. If you don't know who he is, then you are missing out. Mr. Campbell can be seen in such cinematic marvels as Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, From Duck Til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money, Congo, and Escape from L.A. He can also been seen in such masterpieces of the small screen as Jack of All Trades and The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

Ok, so the only thing I've ever seen him in was Army of Darkness, Congo, and the occassional guest spot on shows like X-Files, American Gothic, Lois and Clark, and Ellen. I went tonight more for my boyfriend, who would list Bruce Campbell as his favorite actor.

After tonight, I can see why my boyfriend likes him so much, and I have gained a new respect for him. (Not that I ever disliked him, just that before I was neither here nor there about him).

Anyway, he was very articulate, quick-witted, gracious, charming, and funny. He was very nice when we met him, and had our picture taken with him. It would have been nice if we could have had more time to speak with him.

He is also very good looking in person, more so than he is in some of his films.

Anyway, so there is my little story of meeting a celebrity for the first time in my life. Altogether a very nice experience. It sucked having to wait for like 4 hours, but fortunately I had the foresight to bring a book along to read.

You met Bruce Campbell?! Cool! 'Evil Dead' is a classic!
I've never met anyone famous, I'm afraid.

Cool

SWEEEET Bootsy! Yeah I like the guy myself, he's cool. I'm trying to remember who he was in Congo though...OH WAIT, he was the fiancé that got killed right? I think that's him, yeah. I know him only from Army of Darkness and the Brisco County Jr. or whatnot.

Where'd ya meet him? There was a signing he was at or something?

Jinny: When I found my mom- I had just got back from school my dad wasnt home from work yet - John Jr. was out riding his - his motorcycle KC i dunno I think you were at a friends house. I dont remember. I remember I had a pretty good day at school I gotta a- B+ on an algebra test. I knew my mom was gonna be real happy about that cause - She really got off on stuff like that. So I came home I- uh- I called out for her but I didnt- I didnt hear anything so - I went into the bedroom - There was such a - a strange smell I didnt know what it was and then I saw her two feet sticking out from the bathroom and I remember I flashed on the wicked witch of the east you know the one that Dorothy landed on - I went over pushed the door and I thought she must of fallen and hit the side of the sink or the toilet or something....Because the whole side of her head was open - and then - I realized what the smell was - Blood- My god there was so much blood...I just stood there - I just - frozen I couldn't move. Then Finally I heard the front door and I must of screamed because John Jr. came in pushed me out of the way and - and then everyone came Black and Whites - uniforms..They found the gun - put it in a bag. Then they put her in a bag too. I remember your face - Dad - Because it looked like someone had shot the side of your head off too. I knew you were in the living room and I knew you were drinking because I remembered the sound of the ice crackling in the glass as you kept pouring - and I remember thinking - God that must be nice - you know - to be able to drink like that and forget. Make your mind like a - a big black board and - and use booze to erase all the thoughts that must of been going through your mind all the questions..guilt..Just keep pouring just let it all slip away. You know like sand through your fingers - till theres nothing left -- God i wanted to feel that way too....

I saw John Andretti walking through Sky Harbor (the airport in Phoenix) on Monday with his wife and kids. Pretty cool, but wouldn't you know, no camera!! Two years earlier, I saw Dale Jarrett's crew chief, but I hate that guy so that was no big deal.
