If I was the parents of the of those actresses, I would not allow it. There was a reason why the actress playing Cynthia was an adult at the time.

You could always do it offscreen and not even show the girl. A suicide from a regular cast member would have been way better than a girl we only saw for ten minutes.

They could have had introduced Cynthia for at least a couple of episodes before so we got to know her better.

Mindy had nightmares after the episode where Natalie was attacked on campus. She was too young for that role.

That's how I feel about the abortion episode if it had been season 1's Nancy instead of the one-time "Annie."
