Dear Brian Ward,
I have a proposal for SHOUT! Studios: to make a deal with NBC Universal Television Distribution for SHOUT! Studios to issue and release, for the first time EVER on DVD, "Bachelor Father: The Complete Series," a loving showcase of all 157 half-hour episodes of the hit 1957-1962 sitcom "Bachelor Father" 100% Complete, 100% Uncut, AND 100% Unedited, just the way that each episode originally aired on the CBS Television Network. Created by John Forsythe, "Bachelor Father" was a hit '50s sitcom originally airing on CBS from September 15, 1957 - June 26, 1962, spanning 5 seasons of 157 half-hour episodes; the original pilot was used as an episode of the CBS Anthology Series "General Electric Theater" hosted by future U.S. President Ronald Reagan titled "A New Girl in His Life," telecast on CBS on May 26, 1957. In the aforementioned pilot, John Forsythe cast himself as Bentley Gregg, a Beverly Hills, California attorney who welcomed a new addition into his life--his recently orphaned teenage niece, Kelly (Noreen Corcoran), whose parents had just been tragically killed in a car accident. Bentley decided to raise Kelly as a single parent with help from his houseboy, Peter Tong (Sammee Tong). The regular series of "Bachelor Father" began in earnest on CBS on September 15, 1957, initially every other week along with "The Jack Benny Program" on most CBS stations until CBS cancelled it in June 1959, after which NBC picked up the series by airing new episodes weekly in September 1959. In September 1961, after NBC followed CBS' suit in cancelling the show, "Bachelor Father" was picked up by ABC in October 1961 for Season 5, after which the series was permanently cancelled in Spring 1962, with its 157th and final episode telecast on ABC on June 26, 1962 at 9 P.M. ET / PT on ABC. Despite its cancellation, "Bachelor Father" still today remains the only show to air in its original network run on all three major networks (CBS, NBC, & ABC, respectively), and as of 2011, reruns of the show currently air on Antenna TV. Truth told, Brian, I'm baffled as to the reason WHY "Bachelor Father" has NEVER been issued on DVD or any Home Entertainment media, but with SHOUT! Studios' help, I FIRMLY believe SHOUT! Studios can change that. Tentatively, Brian, I FIRMLY suggest that SHOUT! Studios issue and release, for the first time EVER on DVD, "Bachelor Father: The Complete Series" on Tuesday, January 21, 2024 at a cost of ONLY $99.99 wherever DVDs are sold. Sincerely, Steve Arino |

It probably would run around $100, considering the alleged music issues that would need to be worked out.
