every day at Noon when John Phillips starts his 12 to 3 segment....Feels good to hear it and know it's a major part of the U.S. History.

AFAIK Fox News still begins its broadcast day (5 or 6 am ET) with the SSB.

Good to hear that and hope there are more avenues of programming who do this...too many out there working to break down our country.

Nice tribute to Jimmy Buffet, KABC will play the Star Spangle Banner daily featuring Jimmy. Before Jimmy died they had a Jimmy Buffet Friday and now they will do more.

Nobody's working to break down this country. Americans don't vote, are not politically active. When people sit home and don't exercise their vote, don't attend town hall and other meetings, don't do anything, anarchy reigns, which is what we're seeing now

Oh yes they are, I'm on this earth 85 yrs and never anything like what is going on in my lifetime. Decades of building our country and major businesses closed down and cities upside down.

People vote NOT enough but enough to make decisions, MANY vote WRONGLY.

Oh and this post is about our National Anthem and Jimmy Buffet....!!!!

This problem--of empty storefronts and businesses being closed down--goes back at least a decade, and it started in places like NYC and London (yes, even as far away as that) before it went nationwide in 2023.

The problem is the direct result of foreign and corporate buyers buying out billions of dollars in American real estate as tax shelters and as part of money laundering schemes. Since they don't need these properties other than to park money and avoid paying taxes, they leave them empty, because US laws don't penalize anyone for doing it. Literally, if you're an Arab billionaire, a UK billionaire, Russian, Chinese, etc., there is nothing stopping you from going, "Eh, I feel like buying every mom and pop business in Minessota and leaving them empty."

Did these people work to destroy this country? No. Americans didn't care enough about when this stuff started happening a decade ago to start blocking these laws. Because of complacency, we are paying the price now.

Same thing going on with the undermining of this country's values and culture. There's no law blocking foreign nationals from creating social media apps like Tik Tok to ruin American children, because Americans didn't bother trying to lobby for those laws when they saw, in real time, the damage it was doing years ago. Not in 2023, but years ago.

Point is, we are not the victims of outsiders but of decades of inaction and complacency. Americans need to be active again, out in the voting booths, out protesting, out attending meetings, etc. Framing this thing as people breaking down the country is the wrong way to think about this, IMO.

I am on topic. You made a comment earlier about how people were working to break down the country and I said they weren't. Then I said Americans needed to start being proactive about these problems, and now you're saying I need to be on topic? As a bleeding heart patriot, you don't like to hear someone talk about Americans needing to do more than just be defeatist and start fighting to fix their problems?

Okay, let's get back on topic. I don't know what is so great about a FOX News affiliate playing the Star Spangled Banner, when FOX is owned by an Australian, Rupert Murdoch, who helped paved the way for a lot of the mess that the country is in today.
