Default Does anyone care for the last two seasons of this show?

Because now I’m watching a Season 5 episode on LOGO and it’s PAINFUL to sit through. And Season 4 wasn’t that much better either.

Does anyone else agree with me?

I wasn't too crazy about Nanny Fine and Mr. Shefeild finally getting married. I always thought she was too good for him and that he was too fickle. IMO, they were a mismatch. Another TV couple I thought were a mismatch was Niles and Daphne from Frasier, also Tony and Angela from Who's the Boss and Thelma & Rev. Gregory from Amen. Sometimes a fantasy should remain a fantasy. The only TV couple I really liked was Pam and Jim from The Office. Back to The Nanny, I liked the show much better in the earlier seasons though I always adored Nanny Fine. Maxwell, not so much.

I didn’t have a problem with Maxwell and Fran together but not MARRIED and trying to have a kid when all of Maxwell’s children were almost grown. Definitely a jump the shark moment.

It seemed like Maxwell didn't really want any more kids. He was just appeasing Fran because she wanted a baby. If Max would have married C.C., he wouldn't have to worry because C.C. doesn't like kids and she wouldn't be desperate to get pregnant, although Niles did end up getting C.C. knocked up.

^^This^^ but the whole "will they? won't they?" which was SO prevalent on sitcoms in the 80's and 90's is what made it entertaining. Plus, the cast was great as was the writing so it was great entertainment all around. I had a bit of a crush on "Mistah Sheffield" anyway, so I always enjoyed watching him. LOL! But yeah, in reality, that would never happen. He was much too fickle and emotionally unavailable for any smart, respectable woman to stick around. (Like Mr. Big on Sex and the City...there's another couple that was mismatched. Carrie and Big. Uggh.)

I agree that it probably wasn’t realistic, but I actually did enjoy them as a couple. I thought they settled into a good marriage after some initial ups and downs.
