I often wonder about the effort that was made to find the driver that dropped the suspect off at the cafe run by the two women. He or she may have information that would be helpful.

It's all so confounding.

This is basically a repetition of other comments, but how has there not been a single person of interest?!

We have four identified witnesses and one perhaps unidentified witness. Killer spent the night at the one couple's house and talked at length with them.

There should be so much more to go on with the available information gleaned from witnesses. And as somebody else noted, surely fingerprints were taken at that couple's house. Somebody like this isn't in the system? Have they even run the prints through CODIS and Canada's version of that? Canada can be so damned archaic. I'm Canadian, so I say this unapologetically to my fellow countrymen.

Yeeaaaaah, no offense to you or any other Canadians, but the Canadian government is a bit wild.

I recently learned about a cult from Canada called the Ant Hill Kids. The leader Roch Theriault, brutally tortured members and multiple dead babies have been found on the compound. The Government gave him a psyche evaluation after one of the female members told them that Roch had cut her arm off. They not only said that he was mentally sane, but gave him a mental patient to "rehabilitate". Which ended up pretty bad.

It should be noted that Canada has a far higher clearance rate regarding criminal cases, especially murder since we have a more centralised system, and there are far fewer jurisdictional problems.

There have been hundreds of weird cults in America (David Koresh and the Branch Davidians, Charles Mansion, Jim Jones, etc). The American justice system is arguably the Worst out of any 1st World nation, as the US has 4% of the population, and 25% of the World prisoners.

One would think locking up all those people would possibly deter crime, but the opposite is true. I love Americans, but America is one of the most violent countries in the World. Everyone outside the US knows that America has severe problems when it comes to violent crime.

I don't disagree that America is more violent than other countries. Particularly in big cities which all have their bad neighborhoods. I've often felt the most uncomfortable right outside the gate of an Air Force base.

Phillip's murder goes to show that violent crime can happen anywhere and you cannot trust anyone. I wonder about the reenactment, did Phillip actually stop to let the guy in the car? Because it looks like the guy forced his way in.

I'm pretty sure he let the guy in. If the guy forced his way in, I am sure the women would have mentioned it.

I could be very wrong, but if he/she had come forward and the details made public, I feel someone on this UM board would have spotted said details and shared them with this group. If he/she did come forward and the details were not made public, I cannot see the harm in sharing such details now.

It's too bad he did not. It would have given Police more of an idea where he was coming from, considering there are no cities north of where he was picked up, and the only large town would be Whitehorse, in the Yukon.

My guess is the suspect was a transient worker, possibly doing remote work in the Yukon, considering the authorities would have surely confiscated his weapon, if he was crossing the border from Alaska. I am also convinced he was intimately familiar with the city of Prince George, considering he was able to set the vehicle on fire, then go undetected in the city.

To clarify, are you referring to the suspect or other driver, the one who dropped he suspect off at the cafe?

I am referring to the other driver, the who dropped the suspect off at the cafe. Not sure I am connecting the dots in how this other driver got looped in with the car being set on fire?

I was stating that the person who dropped him off at the cafe would have helpful information, as he would possibly know what town or area the suspect was residing from.

Chances are the person who first dropped off the suspect may not have noticed anything unusual. Moreover, there may have been a long time between the incident and when the program first aired. Now this area in Canada is extremely remote so I wonder if Canadians even saw the original broadcasts. I would guess that the driver probably gave many rides to hitch-hikers.

My dad used to pull over and allow them to ride in the back of his pick-up throughout the 1970-80s. That all changed when a guy hopped out of the truck bed and tried to get into the cab of the truck at a stoplight. My dad drove thru a red light to escape because the hitch-hiker had an object in his hand. My dad could have been robbed or even killed. After that, he no longer stopped for anyone hitch-hiking.
