I watched The Wheel of Fortune for the first time in literally 20 years. I am a college English teacher in China, and this week was a short work week and I wanted to have a rest and fun day since it was the day before a 4 day holiday, and happen to see "Wheel of Fortune" and thought that this would be a fun thing for the students to see and we all played and I am going to show it again as a weekly thing.

But I was a bit shocked that this show is still on. I know that it was on, but it is amazing that this show has lasted decade after decade after decade. The set is now really 21st Century and "gleamy". What shocked me was freaking Vanna White. I'm thinking, "How old is this woman?" and found out that she is 56 years old. She looks great which makes me wonder how many times she has been to the plastic doctor. Pat Sajak seems resigned to be Pat Sajak, White and Sajak aren't really that famous anymore, just flesh robots to entertain board people in the last afternoon or after the evening news.

Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are still some of the best shows on television today! Two of my all time favorite game shows! (along with The Price is Right, but that show is not the same without Bob Barker...)

I was a senior in HS when the syndicated Wheel of Fortune began. I can't believe it's still on.

Yes, I thought pretty much everyone knew that shows like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and AFV are still going strong -- and that Vanna White has had plastic surgery! AFV is still pretty high-profile, as everyone knows Tom Bergeron from DWTS, among other things.

Springer and Povich are still on in many markets as well -- does Maury still have a fetish for chopping off the hair of women who've let theirs get really long?

They do have a million dollar slot on the wheel but it is rather hard to win... I'm sure we could all always use extra money- haha. It's all good though- God provides for me all the time.

I know Tom Bergeron from America's Funniest Home Videos. lol- I have seen him in a few other things- like I have seen bits of Dancing with the Stars at some point- but I don't really care about watching that show. (Not a big fan of "reality" shows in general.) But then- DWTS is still a LOT better than some of the other junk on TV today.
And for that matter, so are AFHV and Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! amongst others.

Default "Nick News" Is Still On The Air. Can It Survive?

http://www.buzzfeed.com/hunterschwar...can-it-survive

Quote:
A Nickelodeon representative wouldn't explicitly say that Nick News is its longest-running show, although no other program on the network has regularly been on the air for as many years. In press releases, it regularly refers to the show as the "longest-running kids' news show in television history."

That may be because Nick has slowly cut back on the program, raising the question of how much longer Nick will keep it around. The show doesn't air as frequently anymore — since the early 2000s, it's only been shown 10 times a year instead of twice a month. Last year, the original brick set for Nick News was replaced.

"I think the schedule of once a month is a graveyard," says Hobbs. "A show that isn't airing weekly can't attract an audience." Over the past two years, some episodes have attracted over 600,000 viewers, according to ratings. But some of Nickelodeon's most popular shows regularly get over 3 million viewers per showing.

Hobbs expects Nickelodeon will continue to hold on to Nick News for the time being, however. "I think it's a low-cost show that's connected to Nickelodeon's sense of identity," she says. "The fact it's the longest-running news show for kids, that's the only function it has for Nickelodeon. It's a throwaway so they can say they haven't lost their values." The slow decay of Nick News is a "tremendous loss," Hobbs says. "I don't think the show has had much of an impact on this [current] generation of kids."

Nice. The cool thing is- even though God always provides all our needs (Philippians 4:19)- sometimes He even throws in a few wants as well. (Psalms 37:4- provided those wants are truly in line with His will, of course.)

Jerry bores me because it is basically the same show everyday. The show is so heavily "bleeped" that it is almost impossible to follow what anyone says. Also, let the people beat the crap out of each other. They cannot only because of legal constraint.

Another guy is Morey Povich. Just ghetto trash who do not know who their baby's daddy is
The changes to the Jerry Springer Show and the Maury Povich Show says more about the change in taste of their target demographic than Maury and Jerry themselves (who both seem like very intelligent men).

People these days love trash TV.
