Dottie went to Cincinnati, never to be heard from again. Another in a long line of stories; Stephanie becoming a cheerleader, Murray and his younger gentile girlfriend Ruth Kendall, Roger Abbott the Accountant, etc were never built upon after their initial presentation.

Interestingly enough as they let other promising stories, some I mentioned above, fall by the wayside I thought Barney pining over Blanche went on way way too long but never seemed to progress.

Dottie was mentioned once more in Murray and Blanche with the implication her and Barney were still together and she still had a prominent role on the show.

After that, it was like Dottie never existed.
