Default Creepiest segment

Mine has to be the arsonist tape. He was bone chilling and hair raising.

I'm unsure. There's lots of em but many segments are just basic interesting mystery moments in total of 10 or 15 min. I think several murder segments have 1 or 2 scary scenes but otherwise not so scary. Like beverly McGowan scene with the travel agency man in disguise as a lady always scared my older brother and I as kids.

Beverly's other scene are ok.

Megan Curl. Many scary moments.. .
1) the female neighbor actually sees Megan's killer across the room sitting silently!

2) this female friend talking in disguise in darkness with a scary voice distortion.

3) creepy music in the background that we are all accustomed to!

4) when Megan actually went down to talk to this mystery man in the car it got creepier! a) the friend on the 2nd floor goes inside. Later comes out, now she sees Megan INSIDE the creepy man's car talking. b) later the lady neighbor comes out AGAIN and sees the car empty!

I felt the same way when I was a kid during the original run. The more I've seen that segment over the years, the more I laugh because it's just some dorky teenager trying to sound scary. To some extent, he succeeded!
The Tom Dixon/Gary Simmons, Gord McAllister and Philip Fraser segments still creep me out.

I always felt alone on an island when it came to this segment. Everyone always claimed how creeped out they were by that voice. One of the fire chiefs interviewed in the segment even expresses how creepy it was and how he had trouble going to bed that night. But even as a 4th grader watching this segment during its original run, it was obvious that this was the voice of a kid. And kid's voices never scared me. If you gave that dialogue to a man with a deep voice, I'm sure I would have had nightmares along with the rest of you. But this guy? No.

When this story was later featured on 'Cold Case Files,' and we finally got to see what this kid looked like, it was all but confirmed what a dork he truly was. A disturbed dork, yes. But still a dork.

Honestly, he sounded like Beavis and Butthead.

I'll throw one out that doesn't really get talked about all that much at all but still gives me the willies: Tim Barry.

There's no real discernible motive for why Barry killed his sister-in-law.

Stack somewhat off-handedly mentions Barry actually had been court martialed for murdering another soldier when he was in the Army, but had been acquitted.

The actor who portrays him is creepy AF.

The guy WALKED OUT OF THE WOODS into a backyard a year after escaping from prison and then just walked back in them to disappear for another four years.

Had I seen this when it originally aired I would've stayed awake for a month knowing he could just walk out of the woods somewhere again.

The case in Virginia (?) where a Woman in a rural area was abducted by a man claiming to be lost and needing directions. He then abducted her, raped her, killed her, placed her body in a freezer for a few days, and then tied her to a tree in the woods a few days later, where a hunter eventually discovered the body.

Unsure of the name of the victim. She was in her early 60s IIRC.

The scary looking guy stabbing Jane & then when she got to her friends house him staring at her from his vehicle. Creepy photo-fit & the guy playing him exuded real menace.
