Default DVD Review/Findings of Complete Series by Shout Factory

I decided to create this thread after unexpectedly coming across which looks to be a audio defect in the episode "Horshack vs Carvelli" in season 2. Soon as the episode started I noticed the audio wasnt matching what was coming out of the characters mouth.

Disc 2 of season 2

Episode "Horshack vs Carvelli" seems to be a audio issue. Sounds like a voiceiver when each character is speaking. The episode also speeds up a little at the 15:00 mark of this episode. At the 22:37 mark it freezes for good and doesnt allow you to get to the end of the episode.

Episode "Sweathogg Clinic for the Cure of Smoking" has the same freeeze issue. Once the episode reaches the 2:17 mark it stops playing. Freezes at the same spot.

Episode "Hark, The SweatKings" had no issues so those were the only 2 episodes on the disc that had issues.

Hopefully this is not a sign for more of this to come.

My DVD seems to be fine, it plays alright. Sometimes there can be little specks of dust that collect on the DVD and interfere with playback. Check your disc for any dust specks and try playing it again.

I'm pretty sure the season four episode titled Barbarino Blues is edited on the DVD. After the opening credits, the scene fades in and seems to already be in progress, looks like something was edited there. The episode run time is shorter than the others from season four so that's another red flag.

I played those two episodes on another DVD player and they froze at the same spots. The last episode with the homeless man played fine. I was going to just watch both of those episodes for $1.99 on Amazon. That;s a lot cheaper than buying season 2

Sounds like maybe the disc is bad which can happen sometimes, sorry about that. A while back I ordered DVD's of the TV show Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea and one of the discs in the set was bad and froze up during playback.

This will be my first time buy a episode from amazon. How does it work? is it saved in my files for me to watch anytime like music?

I haven't bought TV show episodes from Amazon Prime Video so I don't know how it works although I assume once you buy an episode you can watch it as many times as you want, but I'm not sure.

Ok just ordered it and total was $2.11 with tax. And I can add it to my watchlist to watch whenever I want. I immediately went to the part when Carvelli punched Arnold and he fell at 22:37 so I can see if it froze

Im going to watch it when I eat my dinner tonight

So it's the one time fee for the episode and then you can watch it as often as you like, I figured that's how it works, thanks for letting me know. Enjoy your dinner!

Yup, once you order its yours. Watched both episodes and Carvelli vs Horshack is the best of season 2 so far.

Season 3 had no issues at all and now on the 2nd disc of season 4. So I will see how that goes tomorrow. Hopefully I dont have to spend another $2.12 lol

None of these issues are visible when watching through streaming which means I no longer have use for the DVD
