I recall seeing an episode of The Lucy Show when I was very young, and I cannot recall everything about the plot but I do recall the focus of the plot.
The episode was according to what was happening in society in real life and there were these young people called Hippies gathering together at parties or other social occasions of their own and they had their own way of interacting and socializing. The plot went something like this: Lucy and Vivian were looking for a young man who was a Hippie or maybe a member of a group of bikers (motorcyclists) . It was not clear to me why Lucy and Vivian were looking for this young man except maybe his parents wanted to know his whereabouts. It also was not clear to me how Lucy and Vivian got the "job" of looking for the young man. So Lucy and Vivian even though they were women in their 40s or maybe in their mid to late 30s at the youngest went about dressing like Hippie girls looking for a young man who "Wears a watch on his ear" (and when I watched the episode I thought it meant he had a watch IN his ear but it was more that he wore it like an earring). And at one point Lucy and Vivian go into some Hippie joint looking for the young man and they try to look and act like much younger women than they are and they get approached by two young Hippie guys who ask them what dance do they do (as in this Hippie gathering each person has to have a dance he or she invented and named) and Vivian in an impromptu way says that her dance is "The Chicken" and she does a quick silly dance and Lucy has a dance too whose name I do not recall but the scene has the two young men and Lucy and Vivian doing each other's dance. I thought this was a very funny scene. The two young guys had no idea that Lucy and Vivian were old enough to be their mothers. At least that is what i recall of the episode. I think that Lucy and Vivian eventually found the young man they were looking for but I cannot recall the rest of the episode or the ending. Anyone recall this episode ant its name? A good deal of what I described may not be exact but hopefully someone out there will recognize the description of the episode. |
