Expanding from Lucyfan's Create your own dream network thread I've started mine. I'm calling it TRIBUTE TV. It would have a fluid schedule changing monthly. Each month would be feature actor's appearances on shows they starred in mainly. There would be other shows scattered within the week, mostly on the weekends. Those programs will be cartoons on Saturday morning and the corresponding TV show in the evening with
American Bandstand and Wide World of Sports sandwiched between. Those show would highlight special performances and events. There would be a weekday documentary show similar to Through The Decades as well. So if this were to happen I would start it in January and for this month alone it would focus on one actor. Betty White. She was born in January. She may have had the longest career in TV. In addition to the listing of a potential schedule there would also be commercials that featured Betty White for products and services that still exist. All programs would run uncut. Well here's the January schedule. For January 28 the programing will be preempted for historical , as it happened, coverage of the U.S. Space Shuttle Challenger explosion which happened in 1986. 74 seconds into its flight killing seven persons, including Christa McAuliffe, a teacher who was to be the first ordinary citizen in space. February will feature actor's from The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Let me know what you think about this. MONDAY-FRIDAY (January) 6AM Life With Elizabeth 7AM A Date With the Angels 8AM The Match Game (1962-69) 9AM You Dont Say 10AM To Tell The Truth 11AM Password, Password Plus, Super Password 12PM Pyramid ($10,000, $25,000, $100,000) 1PM Hollywood Squares 2PM Match Game 3PM Tattletales 4PM The Liars Club 5PM Betty Whites Off Their Rocker 6PM TRIBUTE REMEMBERS (Original Series highlighting events during the years in the months theme. This months focuses on events connected to Betty White and the events in the years she was active on TV, 1945-2019) 7PM TRIBUTE at the Movies (Featuring movies with Betty White) 9PM Mary Tyler Moore Show 11PM Hot In Cleveland 1AM Life With Elizabeth 2AM A Date With the Angels 3AM The Match Game (1962-69) 4AM You Dont Say 5AM To Tell The Truth SATURDAY (January) 6AM Lassies Rescue Rangers 7AM Top Cat 8AM Help! Its the Hair Bear Bunch! 9AM C.B. I posted this schedule idea a while ago. I wonder if anyone had comments or suggestions. Obviously this schedule will never happen. But it was fun for me to research the TV history of Betty White. I haven't started the follow-up schedule featuring The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I may do that sometime.

Maybe one day or a weekend of Betty White would make for a stronger schedule overall?

Agreed it won't happen, but just a few comments. Some 1960s game shows are mostly gone for good, supposedly, due to the expense, at the time, of archiving and buying new videotapes. Many Hollywood Squares, Match Game (NBC, 1960s), probably You Don't Say episodes are examples. (Newer episodes of long-running game shows were archived.)

The nearly 900 episodes of the original primetime What's My Line? were kept by Goodson-Todman on kinescope (relatively few are missing). The very early episodes from around 1950 were not kept by CBS until Goodson-Todman found out. Similarly, the later-starting game shows To Tell The Truth and I've Got a Secret were also preserved on kinescope.
