With the Norman Lear shows history, The Jeffersons will probably leave at some point like the others. Barney Miller leaving though, would still be shocking. I doubt distributors hate Antenna that much to take away a bunch of key shows from their lineup. MeTV might have clout, but Catchy Comedy is still nowhere near their affiliate level and never will be. And I watched the livestream for awhile on Decades, but gave up as the livestream is too unreliable coming in. That really isn't a big draw if they can't get a decent signal.
The distributors don’t “hate” Antenna. MeTV is a better alternative, they don’t “hate” them, MeTV makes the better offer. Antenna can’t do anything if the distributors see them as a better option. Catchy is fast growing, and is going to be rated by the Nielsen’s, so they will grow quickly — remember, they just started and they have some of the best known sitcoms ever as “clout”, as you say. Can Rewind say the same? Catchy is also on FrndlyTV and people watch there too, Antenna & Rewind do not stream, you did not watch it on FrndlyTV and that’s where it streams (Catchy & MeTV).

Yeah, I believe it’s a result of Paramount+ that Catchy can’t air certain shows on streaming (I know of Rhoda & The Odd Couple) and limited with others (I Love Lucy, Cheers are two I know off the top of my head). Still, I can see why they went this route in addition to cable because many have access to it this way now.

Many people use streaming sticks or have "smart" tvs to get apps like Pluto, Paramount, Peacock, Hulu, etc. I think more having a streaming setup than those that are relying primarily on indoor or outdoor antennas without satellite, internet or cable.

Anyways, I like Family Ties and Three's Company but if that IS the channel's selling point, then it's nothing really special is my point with streaming serving those shows up in a more accessible way.

The other shows like The Bachelor Father are very niche.

I had a smart TV from Vizio for a few years. It was bloody awful, didn't know at the time the model I bought had a known flaw where the sound often skipped and got off with the picture. The replacement I made sure it was not a smart TV, my current LG TV has not given me any sound problems. I have also heard that smart TVs listen in on things and collect data sending it back to the company, don't need that intrusion.

And the niche is the Baby Boomers, the retirees. Bachelor Father, Father Knows Best, Burns and Allen.

If Antenna TV is still around in 5-10 years, they will gradually start catering to Gen X in the morning hours, as they begin to retire. So we'll probably see the 60s shows move into the morning and early afternoon hours. It's also probably why Rewind and Antenna will probably become one again.

A Gen Xer knows nothing of 50s black and white TV shows, and probably would not watch them.
