This year, we'll do the same. This thread will be updated constantly, so keep checking back for title updates, cast updates, photos, which make it and more. There are 13 drama pilots in development. Which do you think will make it? Only between 4-6 will make it I think, so make your picks now. (NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE DETAILED INFORMATION ON OTHER NETWORK PILOTS, SO PLEASE CHECK OUT VARIETY.COM, HOLLYWOODREPORTER.COM OR THEFUTONCRITIC.COM FOR DETAILS ON THOSE PILOTS) 2013-2014 SEASON DRAMA PILOTS: Betrayal 1 Hour CAST Hannah Ware Henry Thomas Wendy Moniz Chris J. Johnson Braeden Lemasters Elizabeth McLaughlin Stuart Townsend James Cromwell CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: David Zabel, Alon Aranya, Rob Golenberg Frank Ketelaar, Robert Kievit DIRECTOR: Patty Jenkins It started with a chance meeting at an art gallery. Photographer Sara Hadley (Hannah Ware) and Attorney Jack McAllister (Stuart Townsend) both felt it, a sudden spark and with it, an undeniable feeling of instant attraction. Both are married, albeit, unhappily to other people; she, to successful prosecutor Drew Hadley (Chris Johnson), a political climber out for himself. Outsiders think they have the perfect marriage but Sara knows full well the distance and coldness that has crept into their marriage. Jack, too, has felt the loss of intimacy in his own marriage to Elaine, the daughter of Jack’s boss Thatcher Karsten (James Cromwell). Karsten is a powerful mogul in a business that creates a lot of enemies. Despite themselves, Sara and Jack find themselves ever drawn to each other after a series of chance encounters. They are two souls wounded by life’s vagaries who form a powerful connection and before long, a torrid affair begins. When Karsten’s brother-in-law Lou is murdered, all evidence points to Karsten’s son TJ. (Henry Thomas) Jack, as the company’s lead council, will have to defend him. For Sara’s prosecutor husband Drew, this is the kind of high-profile murder case that can secure his political future. Before Sara and Jack’s affair has barely started, the lovers will find themselves in an impossible situation–on opposite sides of a murder investigation. The relationship and the case begin a spiraling series of betrayals with cataclysmic results for everyone. From David Zabel (ER) and directed by Patty Jenkins (The Killing, Monster) comes a powerful and compelling story of sex, scandal, revenge and BETRAYAL Big Thunder One Hour CAST Pierce Gagnon Zahn McClarnon Ana De La Reguera Alex Hassell Ed MacLiam Spencer Locke Alex Meraz Ruth Bradley CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Melissa Rosenberg, Jason Fuchs, Rob Bowman WRITER: Chris Morgan DIRECTOR: Rob Bowman There’s gold in the hills of Big Thunder Mountain, deep in the Wyoming Territory of 1890, enough gold to make King Midas jealous. There’s something else at Big Thunder too, something otherworldly. Local legend holds that the mountain has been cursed by the Shoshone since a notorious mining accident at this western outpost some 30 years ago. About as far from the splendor of the wild west as one can get, widower Dr. Gavin Kelly (Ed MacLiam) lives with his 17 year old daughter Lizzie (Ruth Bradley) and young son Jack (Pierce Gagnon) on the crowded lower east side of Manhattan. Son Jack suffers from a frightening respiratory illness for which Gavin Kelly strives to find a cure. The family’s life will suddenly change when Gavin gets an offer to move to the mining town of Big Thunder because they need a doctor and are willing to pay any price. Lured by the promise of a better life, the Carsons Kelly’s, accompanied by their nanny Nora (Spencer Locke), set out on a frontier adventure and meet the mysterious benefactor who brought them there: Abel White (Alex Hassell). But there is something about this Eden on the edge of civilization and something about Abel White–supernatural forces are at work and their son seems to be a conduit. Together the family will uncover the mysteries, dangers and unspoken secrets of the haunted mountain: Big thunder From Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift), Chris Morgan (Fast & The Furious franchise), Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight Series, Red Widow) comes this exciting mystery adventure loosely based on the Disneyland ride Big Thunder Mountain and directed by Rob Bowman (Castle and X-Files movie) Doubt 1 Hour CAST Steve Coogan Carla Gugino Rockmond Dunbar Kacey Rohl Greg Grunberg John Pankow Mercedes Ruehl CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: Sony Pictures Television EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: David Shore DIRECTOR: Tommy Schlamme “Everything’s going to be okay”, that is the mantra defense attorney Vince Calzonetti invokes to his clients, co-workers, and friends when things are at their worst. And with Vince, it seems things are always at their worst. A former cop turned low-rent lawyer, Vince uses his street smarts to work the system for his clients and his methods in and out of the courtroom are notoriously unconventional. And Vince finds himself in court a lot; depending on the day, he’s either the attorney or the defendant. He’s a complicated soul always bending the law in order to keep the doors of his struggling, new practice open for all who depend on him, including his legal associates Mr. and Mrs. Syd Newman and his mentally and physically challenged brother Mark. He does it all while battling his own inner demons and trying to manage a complicated love/hate relationship with his ex-wife Linda, a DA. Vince doesn’t have one cynical bone in his body, they’re the only kinds of bones he has. He’s not interested in truth, justice or the American way for that matter, all Vince is looking for is doubt…reasonable doubt…enough to get his clients off and get himself paid. His young paralegal Monica sees through that, though, and believes deep down Vince cares about the clients, the law and above all, the truth and maybe she’s right. Either way, when Vince Calzonetti lays down the law, you’ll want him on your side. From David Shore, the creator of House, comes a new, fast moving legal drama that will leave no DOUBT. Forever 1 Hour CAST Omar Epps Frances Fisher Sam Hazeldine Samaire Armstrong Nicholas Gonzalez Mark Hildreth Landon Gimenez Matt Craven Devin Kelley CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Aaron Zelman, JoAnn Alfano, Jon Liebman, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner DIRECTOR: Charles McDougall What happens when the people you have mourned and buried suddenly appear on your doorstep as if not a day has gone by? Would it be a miracle, madness and is it even real? The people of Arcadia are forever changed then their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. An 8-year-old American boy wakes up alone in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province with no identification and no idea how he got there. Details start to emerge when the boy, who calls himself Jacob, recalls that his hometown is Arcadia, Missouri and an immigration agent, Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps), takes him there. The home he claims as his own is occupied by an elderly couple, Harold and Lucille Garland, who lost their son Jacob more than 30 years ago in a drowning accident. While they look different, young Jacob will recognize them as his own parents. But how can this be? The boy that stands before them looks like their son and knows details about their lives that no one else can know, but this must be an elaborate hoax. Lucille wants to believe but Harold Garland cannot accept it. Those closest to the family try to unravel this impossible mystery, including Sheriff Fred Garland (Matt Craven, Crimson Tide), whose wife Barbara also drowned 30 years ago trying to save Jacob. But this boy who claims to be the deceased Jacob knows secrets about the events of his own death that no one else knows — secrets that Fred’s daughter Gail will begin to investigate and discover to be true. The child’s return will have everyone questioning faith, miracles and the supernatural. When other mysterious strangers start to arrive in Arcadia, we come to know that Jacob is not the only one who has returned. From Executive Producer Aaron Zelman (Damages, The Killing) and Brillstein Entertainment and Brad Pitt’s Plan B comes a character drama about what happens when the dead come back very much alive. Gothica 1 Hour CAST Janet Montgomery Melissa George Christopher Egan Seth Gabel Tom Ellis Raza Jaffrey Tracie Thoms Emma Booth Christian Camargo CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Matt Lopez, Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper Michele Fazekas, Tara Butters DIRECTOR: Anand Tucker Frankenstein. Jekyll and Hyde. Dorian Gray. Dracula. Gothic literature’s most iconic characters step out of the shadows of the past and into a sexy, modern and romantic soap. Welcome to Gothica, a modern city where an ancient struggle between good and evil is being fought. Grace Van Helsing (Janet Montgomery, Made in Jersey) has come home to Gothica one last time to visit her brother Chris, editor of their family’s Sentinel Newspaper and crusader against the soul-less power brokers that control this city. When her brother is killed on the eve of implicating enigmatic recluse Clayton Drax in the murder of their parents some 10 years earlier, Grace embarks on a dark and dangerous investigation of the truth that exposes the sinister underbelly of Gothica’s founding families. The Van Helsing family has made a lot of enemies who all have a motive for murder. Included are Victor Frankenstein (Tom Ellis), Grace’s former love, a brilliant scientist on the verge of macabre discovery; Dorian Gray (Chris Egan, Letters to Juliet), a hedonistic playboy with a shrouded past; Henry Jekyll (Christian Camargo), a once prominent and now broken man whose career was destroyed by a Guardian expose; and of course, the most powerful man in Gothica: Clayton Drax who may be controlling all of them through his emissary, the seductive Fiona Hunter (Melissa George). Step over to the sexy dark side of GOTHICA where evil, obsession and revenge won’t stay buried for long. Unravel the mystery of this thrilling new drama from Executive Producer Mark Gordon and written by Matt Lopez. Influence 1 Hour CAST Steve Zahn Christian Slater Gregory Marcel Cedric Sanders Megalyn Echikunwoke CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: 20th Century Fox Television EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Kyle Killen, Keith Redmon DIRECTOR: Miguel Sapochnik Need help getting a job? How about convincing your daughter not to marry her loser boyfriend? Whatever it is you want, Clark (Steve Zahn) and Ross Edwards (Christian Slater) can help you get it. They’re not magicians, nor wishful thinkers. Clark and Ross are brothers and partners in a unique agency committed to solving clients’ problems using the hard science of psychological manipulation. Clark is a former professor and a world-renowned expert in the field of human behavior. He has a checkered history due to a bipolar disorder, which sometimes results in quirky, manic episodes. His older brother Ross has a story just as dramatic: a slick con man who spent some time in prison. Needless to say, each in their own way knows what makes people tick. Drawing from the most cutting edge research in psychology, they can tailor a plan to influence any situation. It’s a little bit science, a little bit con artistry plus a smattering of Jedi mind tricks. The brothers, along with their team of master manipulators are offering clients an alternative to fate and they’re changing lives along the way. Fall under the INFLUENCE of a unique and unconventional workplace drama from the Executive Producer Kyle Killen. Killer Women 1-Hour CAST Tricia Helfer Alex Fernandez Marc Blucas Marta Milans Michael Trucco CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Hannah Shakespeare, Martin Campbell, Ben Silverman, Sofia Vergara, Luis Balaguer DIRECTOR: Larry Trilling Of all the notorious lawmen who ever patrolled the violent Texas frontier, none are more storied than the Texas Rangers. And none could be more macho. While the once all-male bastion now allows “lady rangers,” no one can say they are welcomed. Being the only female ranger in this elite squad isn’t going to stop Molly Parker (Tricia Helfer, Battlestar Gallactica), she’s ballsy and badass enough to get the job done despite a good-ole boy network filled with harassment and discrimination. In another profession, being a stunning former beauty queen might open doors but for Molly…that distinction only makes it harder. Molly is committed to finding the truth and seeing justice served; a trait no doubt inherited from her father, a former Texas sheriff. She’s even willing to break some rules to get it done. While she’s surrounded by law enforcement colleagues who want to see her fail, including Police Lieutenant Estaban Salazar, there are those within the Rangers who have her back like her boss, Company Commander Luis Zea. Molly also has the support of her loving family including her brother Billy (Michael Trucco), his wife Becca (Marta Milans) and their two precocious daughters, Lulu and Hailee, who revere their role-model aunt. On the verge of getting divorced from her smarmy husband Jake, Molly relishes her newfound freedom even as she begins an affair with a sexy, dangerously handsome DEA agent, Dan Winston (Marc Blucas, Knight and Day, Necessary Roughness). She could be the one woman that captures this bad boy’s heart but neither is ready to pull the trigger…yet. From Executive Producer Sofia Vergera (Modern Family) and written by Hannah Shakespeare, step inside the dangerous world of the Texas Rangers from the female perspective and experience the arresting KILLER WOMEN. Lucky 7 1 Hour CAST Matt Long Stephen Louis Grush Lorraine Bruce Anastasia Phillips Summer Bishil Luis Antonio Ramos Isiah Whitlock, Jr. Christine Evangelista CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: David Zabel, Jason Richman, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Paul McGuigan DIRECTOR: Paul McGuigan Every day, across the country, Americans imagine what it would be like to strike it rich. They dream of new houses, new cars, new everything. It’s just a pipe dream. It could never happen to them… …but what if it did? In Astoria, Queens, NY, a group of 7 gas station employees have been chipping into a lottery pool for months, hoping, but never thinking they’d actually win. Money could solve problems for each of them. Matt could pay to get his girlfriend and 2 kids out of his mother’s house. Matt’s brother Nicky, an ex-con, could pay off the gangsters he’s indebted to. Samira, a second-generation Pakistani immigrant, could afford to go to Juilliard. Denise, a plucky cashier, could focus on rebuilding her crumbling marriage. Leanne, a young mother, could help her daughter realize her dreams. Bob, the store’s manager, could finally retire and Antonio could give his wife and kids a whole new life. Two of the employees hatch a plan to make some quick cash, but the plan goes south. If only they’d waited, they’d find they were about to hit the jackpot – a $45 million one to be exact. From David Zabel and Jason Richman (Detroit 1-8-7) comes a rich and compelling drama about what happens to a group of people when they win the lottery. While some dreams will be within reach, other problems will come to the surface and relationships will be tested in LUCKY 7. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 1 Hour CAST Clark Gregg Ming-Na Wen Brett Dalton Chloe Bennet Iain De Caestecker Elizabeth Henstridge CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell, Jeph Loeb CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: Paul Zbyszewski Joss Whedon (MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) shows us not all heroes are super with MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Fresh from his role in the summer’s box office smash, MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) returns to the worldwide law enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D. He puts together a small, highly trained, team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet, the new, the strange and the unknown. That team consists of straight arrow Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); and brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). They’ll be joined by civilian new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). Prepare for an epic adventure that showcases the hope and wonder of the human spirit. This is a world of Super Heroes, aliens and the unusual – of action, spectacle and world spanning stories. The show will speak to the human condition through the lens of our very human, non-powered S.H.I.E.L.D agents – that together we are greater than we are apart, and that we can make a difference in the world. Executive Produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost, Heroes) comes Marvel’s first live-action TV series, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Murder in Manhattan 1 Hour CAST Annie Potts Bridget Regan Brenden Hines Enver Gjokaj Shirley Rumierk CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Maria Maggenti, Ryan Reynolds, Jonathon Komack Martin, Allan Loeb, Steven Pearl, Matthew Gross CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: Merrill Karpf DIRECTOR: Cherie Nowlan Park Avenue widow Blythe Sutton (Annie Potts) is a woman of money, influence and ….an impeccable taste for solving murders. When a friend and fellow blueblood is found dead of an apparent suicide, Blythe knows in every fiber of her being that it was foul play and she’s determined to get to the truth. Enlisting the help of her daughter Lex (Bridget Regan, Legend of the Seeker) isn’t going to be easy. According to Lex, just because she and her mother uncovered the truth about the murder of another friend, doesn’t mean they can solve every suspicious death in Manhattan. Blythe doesn’t believe it was just a fluke and she knows that, despite the protestations, Lex loved working with her to solve the crime and is certain they can do it again. The two Sutton women share a strong bond and an active imagination. They will spin, Rashoman-style, their own theories about how the dead woman met her end. Each brings to their sleuthing partnership their own investigative abilities: Lex works in the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit and has a knack for puzzle-solving. It also doesn’t hurt that she is romantically involved with her former childhood friend Jack, a NYC detective, from whom she’ll extract what information she can while also trying to keep her budding relationship a secret from Blythe. And Blythe, well, Blythe can talk to anyone about anything and will do so to uncover the truth. Her dashingly handsome son Bart vows to stay above the family fray: two strong-willed women with a flair for the dramatic are not going to drag him into this. And through it all, when mother and daughter work this closely together to solve a case, they may ultimately realize the biggest puzzle might just be each other. All the clues point to intrigue, humor and fun when this mother and daughter amateur gumshoe team take on MURDER IN MANHATTAN while also solving the complexities of their own relationship in a one hour dramedy from writer Maria Maggenti and produced by Ryan Reynolds and Allan Loeb’s DarkFire Television. Reckless (United Chris Black Project) 1 Hour CAST Ernie Hudson Eloise Mumford Lou Taylor Pucci Ashton Holmes Patrick Fugit Parminder Nagra Lyndon Smith Bess Armstrong Naveen Andrews Stephen Lang CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Chris Black, Martin Campbell DIRECTOR: Martin Campbell When a military coup overthrows an unstable south east Asian government, Sarah Harrison (Eloise Mumford, The River), a doctor working in a humanitarian clinic in country is unjustly imprisoned by the brutal dictator now in charge. Her husband David (Patrick Fugit, Almost Famous) and her family, back in the U.S., are desperate to secure her release. Her high-powered, political-insider father Tom (Stephen Lang, Avatar) is confident that his diplomatic connections will be the answer to getting his daughter back. But The CIA and State Department are unable to make headway and the volatile situation in Asia deteriorates. An American captive is tried and executed as a spy, diplomatic channels are closed and David realizes time is running out for his wife. Forced to resort to a desperate, last ditch option to extricate his wife, David steps off the deep end into a dangerous alliance with a notorious mercenary known as Roland Shaw (Naveen Andrews, LOST)… From here there is no turning back. Financing this highly illegal, rogue operation will require more money than David has access to and so he begins a reckless cycle of betraying, endangering and lying to everyone he knows and loves in order to bring his wife back alive. The clock is ticking and the stakes have never been higher. Enter a world of political intrigue and deadly alliances in an electrifying international action-thriller: RECKLESS. From Executive Producer Martin Campbell and Creator/ Executive Producer Chris Black Westside (aka Venice) 1 Hour CAST Bruce Greenwood Jennifer Beals Dean Winters Luke Bracey Odette Annable Michael Graziadei Lincoln Lewis Brooklyn Sudano Lexi Ainsworth CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: Warner Brothers Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Byron Balasco, McG, Peter Johnson, Ilene Chaiken DIRECTOR: McG A forbidden and dangerous romance emerges between two lovers of rival families causing an all-out feud in a modern day telling of Romeo & Juliet. Welcome to Venice — California’s most seductive city, mecca of surfing, skating and a laid back beach lifestyle coveted the world over. It’s also the headquarters of surf and apparel brand Venice Republic, founded 25 years ago by two best friends, Jay Carver and Gordy Nance (Bruce Greenwood, The River). But with big success came greed, betrayal and excesses causing a bitter schism between the partners. When Jay Carver died of a drug overdose, his wife Lisa (Jennifer Beals, The L Word) was pushed out of the business, left with next to nothing and forced to raise her children Chris, Shealy and Nico alone while the billion-dollar Venice Republic empire was left in the hands of Gordy Nance. Years later, son Chris Carver has just returned home from a 6 year prison stint for a crime he took the fall for only to find that the hatred that divided these two families runs as deep as ever. Unbeknownst to anyone, Venice Republic is in rocky financial shape due in part to Gordy’s nefarious association with an organized crime ring. Gordy is determined to take the last asset the Carvers own: their original flagship store. Chris’ uncle Robbie is resolved to bring retribution upon the Nance family and becomes involved in dangerous activities that can lead to murder. It’s more than Chris can deal with and he vows to start his life over far away from Venice until he reconnects with Gordy’s now grown-up daughter, the stunning Sophie (Odette Annable, Cloverfield, Brothers and Sisters). The two begin a secret relationship that will further tear their families apart. When his uncle is brought to the brink of death at the hands of Nance’s henchmen, Chris realizes his place is in Venice and he vows to rebuild his family’s business and revive his father’s legendary name and legacy. From Executive Producer/Creator Byron Balasco (Without a Trace) and Executive Producer/Director McG (Charlie Angels: Full Throttle & The O.C.) comes a juicy soap about sex, betrayal and family loyalties between bitter rivals struggling for control of WESTSIDE. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland 1 Hour CAST Emma Rigby as Red Queen Michael Socha as Knave of Hearts Paul Reubens as White Rabbit (Voice) Peter Gadiot as Cyrus Sophie Lowe as Alice CREDITS PRODUCTION COMPANY: ABC Studios EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis, Jane Espenson, Steve Pearlman, Zack Estrin DIRECTOR: Ralph Hemecker 7-10 minute pilot presentation ordered for a potential spin-off of Once Upon a Time, told through the point of view of Alice, of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" fame. ---- My picks on which will be added to the fall line-up: 4/13/13 - We have 13 dramas in development on ABC this season, which includes the Once Upon a Time in Wonderland pilot presentation. ABC always has great dramas in development, especially since 2004. Mostly every year they have ones that are the most buzzed about and this year it does that. This past season Nashville fit the ABC style big time. It is too early to tell which will make it, because some have not been even filmed yet. It is hard to pick something that hasn't been seen yet, but going by plot and casting I already have some favorites. Anyway, I hope we REALLY see these dramas for 2013-2014, whether it be fall or mid-season: Gothica, Killer Women, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Reckless and Westside. NOTE: Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is just a presentation for now. Other shows that sound decent: Big Thunder, Doubt, and Lucky 7. Skeptical on the broad appeal of all of these, though, but I think possibly one of these will still be picked-up (like Big Thunder). DISCLAIMER: Cast photos coming soon. Please remember most of these pilots will not make it, so it will be kind of cool having a photo of a cast of a show that does not make it. So out of these 12 pilots (plus Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), probably about 4-6 will make it on the air actually next season. The rest will go in what is called pilot hell, where tons of pilots each year go. Please post your thoughts on which you think will make it. |

Once again, ABC is having a problem with "limited concept series." Betrayal, Forever, Gothica, Lucky 7, Murder in Manhattan, and Reckless all sound like they are a show that could last one season - tops.
I don't know if its just me, but doesn't Murder in Manhattan sound a lot like NBC's failure, Deception? S.H.I.E.L.D. will likely get a prime spot on the lineup. Others that may work are Killer Women and Westside. For me, however, I don't see anything that really catches my attention. ABC is focusing its attention on more soaps, and soaps just aren't my thing. |

My initial thoughts:
Betrayal - We don't need another show with a wealthy scandalous family. Revenge is falling apart and Deception was bad. Big Thunder - It's something different but I'm not sure it would be my cup of tea Doubt - This doesn't sound like an ABC drama to me so it might be a tough sell for them Forever - An interesting premise but it would have to be well thought out to not go the route of so many other sci-fi Lost style shows Gothica - This sounds really interesting to me and would be a great pair with Once Upon a Time Influence - The combination of Christian Slater and Kyle Killen make this show seemed doom to fail if it picks up. The odd premise doesn't help either Killer Women - This might be a nice fit for ABC, it still fits their female-skewing style but also could be more of a procedural with some action Lucky 7 - Narrow premise. ABC needs to stay away from these types of shows but they always pick up at least one Marvel's SHIELD - this is surely going to get picked up. Hope it lives up to the expectations Murder in Manhattan - I think this would work better as a case of the week type show ala Murder She Wrote. Reckless - this show could be good but it would never work on ABC *cough*Last Resort*cough* Westside - I'm not sure what I think about this one. It sounds a little corny and a little too much in the Revenge family Once Upon a Time in Wonderland - an interesting idea for a spinoff and definitely a likely pickup |

-Betrayal sounds very ABC to me
-Big Thunder seems interesting but I don't think it would work as a broadcast show. Seems more niche and suited for a cable network. -Doubt I think will be picked up for some reason but they'll need to make it distinctive from the other lawyer shows. -Forever was the one show on that list that really stood out to me. Seems like it will either be amazing or a total disaster. Reminded me kind of like Pushing Daisies (well, something that would have been a nice fit alongside of it in 2009). -Gothica is 100% getting picked up, I think. Seems like a perfect fit for Sunday nights. -Influence doesn't seem very special at all. Doubt they'll pick that up. -Not sure about Killer Women. Also, hate the title - sounds like something that would air on Investigation Discovery. -Lucky 7 sounds interesting but not really as a weekly drama, more like a 2hr movie you go see and then forget about. They'd really have to make the characters likeable/relatable, otherwise nobody will care about some random people at a gas station. -Marvel show will forsure get picked up and get a lot of hype and probably do well. -Murder in Manhattan I think will get picked up as well, fits the female target and seems like something ABC would do. Not sure it'll be a success though. -Reckless could either be a huge ratings hit or the exact opposite. I can't decide haha -Westside seems like the star of all of these (this and Gothica seem like the 2 big ones for ABC this year) |

7 drama pick-ups so far:
“MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.” Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel's The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville,” “Lost,” “Heroes”) comes Marvel's first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television. – An exclusive first look at “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will air during the season finale of “Once Upon A Time” this Sunday, May 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. “MIND GAMES” Clark (Steve Zahn) and Ross (Christian Slater) Edwards are brothers and partners in a unique agency committed to solving clients’ problems using the hard science of psychological manipulation.
