LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - To FOX's credit, the network has released several of the most positively reviewed shows of the year. However, the network is having a difficult time making audiences watch any program that doesn't contain the words "American" or "Idol" in the title.
FOX is giving viewers multiple chances to get hooked on "Arrested Development" and "Wonderfalls," repurposing both series to catch maximum eyes. With an average viewership of just over 6.2 million viewers per week, the Golden Globe nominated comedy "Arrested Development" is sure to get a boosted from a coveted slot after "American Idol" on Wednesday, March. 17. That episode features cameos by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Lipton and Henry Winkler and will inevitably, almost by default, become the series' most watched episode yet. Then, this Sunday (March 21), FX will air an "Arrested Development" mini-marathon, showcasing six episodes of the series from 2 to 5 p.m. ET. "We've developed a lot of outstanding television at Imagine, but I don't think I've ever been prouder of a comedy than I am of 'Arrested Development,'" says Ron Howard the show's narrator and one of its executive producers. "It's the most critically acclaimed series this season and we're delighted that audiences will get to find out what all the noise is about when they sample the series on FX." After drawing a disappointing 4.31 million viewers for its premiere last Friday (March 12), "Wonderfalls" hopes to get a boost from a special encore on Thursday, March 18. In addition to reairing the pilot, FOX will offer audio commentary from executive producer and co-creator Todd Holland, available at fox.com. |
