A Load Off My Mind - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

On the 30th of April, I posted a thread called "All Over the Place". This thread had to do with my wonder about why I see so many ads for boots on every page of this site whenever I come here at this time of year. It did not make sense to me for companies to expect people to be interested in women's boots that far into the spring. I also posted messages about this topic on the pages of "The Brady Bunch" and "Will and Grace". This is because these are other shows that have featured girls and women that I thought looked beautiful in boots. In was on the "Brady Bunch" page that someone offered me some very interesting incite on the topic. This poster pointed out to me that every set of ads is tailored to the interests of the person visiting the site. This being the case, everyone is different in terms of what ads they see when they visit the same sites. By the way, on this very day, I saw an ad for lady's boots over on You Tube. I am guessing that, because of how many messages I have posted in regards to how beautiful the babes on this show looked in boots, the people running the sites figure that that is what I am interested in and thus show me these ads. This was a very interesting learning experience!

Google is pervasive and so is Facebook. So they are tracking virtually everything.

At least on Facebook you can turn that "feature" off.

I recall once mentioning LL Bean or one of their products on Facebook, and awhile later on another site I saw their ads.

With this post it may happen again.

That is all very interesting. By the way, the thread on the "Brady Bunch" page in which this was explained to me is called "Pool Toys". I was over there a few minutes ago and it was at the top of the page.
