TV "Jeopardy!" Champ Brian Henegar Says he's "Really Hurt" over Hitler Comparison

"Jeopardy!" Champ Brian Henegar Responds to "Really Hurtful Comments" about his Appearance
by Jessica Wang
April 6, 2023

"Jeopardy!" champion Brian Henegar will be donating earnings to the Anti-Defamation League in response to hateful comments about his appearance.

Henegar, a guest services agent from Tennessee, went viral following Tuesday's episode of the game show due to his unbridled joy (and sheer shock) after he emerged victorious over Crystal Zhao and Amanda Bain Wysocki, taking home over $23,200 during Final Jeopardy.

The moment was dampened after some viewers mocked his appearance, comparing him and his mustache to Adolf Hitler.

Henegar, who tweeted that he was "feeling every emotion under the sun" following his triumphant win, condemned the "jerks" in a series of tweets.

"Right now I’m feeling every emotion under the sun reliving my Jeopardy! appearance. And I’m seeing what a bunch of Jerks on Twitter are doing because all they can focus on my looks… So I’m going to be leaving Twitter for a while, see you soon"

"To all of you jerkolas you thought comparing my appearance to one of the most evil dictators, who ever lived was the height of comedy, when I get my Jeopardy winnings, I will be making a donation to the Anti-Defamation League."

It’s rough, but he DOES look like him. He has to have known that. A hairstyle change and losing the mustache would go a long way to fixing things.

He's heavier and his mustache is a little bit longer than Hitler's, but the hair is spot on.

I don't blame him at all, what an absolutely horrible thing to say about somebody! Some people are just stupid and idiotic jerks.

He really does look like Hitler but I doubt it's on purpose. People see themselves differently than others see them. But the instant he came on the show my first thought was that he looked like Hitler. Donating money to the ADL is a curious reaction, though. If there's nothing to it, why would you do that?

There was a famous NY baseball player who looked like Mussolini. In fact, his teammates gave him that nickname. That's how Bill "Moose" Skowron got his name.

And in today's social media environment, everyone would be comparing Oliver Hardy to an obese Hitler. Society is truly going backwards.

Guy could be Jewish or half and finds the comments about his personal appearance to be hurtful and insulting.

I wouldn't be surprised if he found the comments insulting but giving money to the ADL because people he doesn't know say he looks like Hitler seems like an odd response. If he was Jewish he would say, "How dare you say I look like Hitler, I'm Jewish."
