That episode was "Touch Of Venom" which had a lot of terrific guest stars. I watch a Cannon episode whenever I am not working and this one is next on the list.

William Conrad was Matt Dillon on the radio version of Gunsmoke. He had the perfect voice for it. The TV role went to James Arness, who looked closer to how radio audiences had visualized the marshall. Over many years William Conrad contemplated his revenge. Finally, in 1971, Cannon debuted and began picking away mercilessly at the crumbling, geriatric facade of Gunsmoke. Within four years, Gunsmoke was cancelled. There are those who say that the next night a big shiny Lincoln Continental was seen roaring through the Dodge City set destroying everything in its path. Cannon continued making episodes for another year, free from Gunsmoke's prejudices against the obese.

Saw it about a year or so ago on ME TV! It was great! But then it went off the air after 6 month and ME TV repeat the episodes at least three times each. I think they brought it back again for the weekend but I have not caught it as of yet!

Not sure why they did not air it on Primetime; because I think it would be a giant hit with the viewership! I might buy the series on DVD if it ever came out in a box set for all the episodes.

A lot more people are now - close to his weight in the general population and it will give them a good feeling about how to use your weight to your advantage. I think William Conrad aka Frank Cannon the detective was in his 50s at the start of Cannon! The first time I saw it; I did not like the character and never tuned in for the entire series. Only saw maybe one or two episodes.

Conrad was around 51 when Cannon made its debut -- probably 50 when filming began.

I like the character. He was such a big target, though, for a bullet. There were lots of other ways the villains tried to bump him off (cut brake lines, car bomb, carbon monoxide, etc.).

I didn't watch it when it was first on. It wasn't really a little girls type of show. I remember it being on in my house though, my Dad liked it. I happened to watch an episode last Sunday. They show it on METV "catch me if you can" cop shows . I liked it. Frank Cannon was pretty cool!! I also watched Kojak on Sunday too!

I love Cannon. I barely remember the show but was too young to watch since I was around 3 or 4 when it was in its prime. But I remember the show. I started watching on MeTV when I would wake up early at 3am. I think the writing was really good. If you miss a small part, the plot may not make sense to you. If you dont pay attention some episodes are hard to follow. He was a tough, no nonsense, smart detective. But I also love to watch for the early 70s cars and that fantastic red interior
