Newsradio should've replaced Khandi Alexander in the Catherine Duke role? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What I think Newsradio should've done was cast another actress to fill Khandi Alexander's shoes in the role of Catherine Duke but instead they let Catherine Duke leave when Khandi Alexander left the show. This I think was the biggest mistake Newsradio did in it's run and they should've auditioned another actress to play Catherine Duke instead. Why Newsradio did this i'll never know

because replacements barely ever work out.

Personally, I'm glad they didn't. I hate it when they recast a part. I'm all good with replacements as in a new character joins the show, but not same character/different actor.

That's what I wish they had done. Brought in a new character to be the new co-anchor to Bill (and later Max).

Also, in the pilot episode, Catherine was played by Ella Joyce. Khandi Alexander replaced her in the second episode.
