Default Who remembers “Funny Face” and “The Sandy Duncan Show”?

Both shows lasted 13 episodes each. The former allegedly did well in the ratings, but was canceled because Duncan was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Although it was successfully removed, it led to the loss of vision in one eye. Then Duncan returned for a revamped and retitled series, but its ratings were poor.

Funny Face is one of my earliest memories of primetime sitcom viewing, so I know that my family was watching back then. I was too young to really have specific memories, but I know for certain that Sandy was one of the first sitcom stars to make an impression on me.

Same here, I remember watching Funny Face and The Sandy Duncan show but other than Sandy Duncan , I remember little else about it? I remember enjoying it, but I don't remember the plot or any other actors in the show or anything!

I do remember the opening credits though, they showed pictures of Sandy when she was a baby ,and a little girl !

I do remember hearing about the show going on hiatus or sorts for she was having surgery. Later about hearing she had lost her vision in one eye and felt sad. Decades later, I haven't heard much about her. Oh yes she did star in the Hogan show with Jason Bateman and didn't she tour the country doing the Peter Pan plays.

Exclamation Oh, yeaghhh, her!

Yes, I vaguely remember Funny Face and Sandy Duncan Show too. I remember Sandy Duncan better than I remember her show. She was a cute little Pixie type with that Dutch boy red haircut. Yes, I rembember she lost her eye and had to use a marble eye afterward. I hadn't even thought of her in years till I saw her for 2 seconds while channel surfing on a repeat on Antenna TV of that lousy show, Hogan Family that she took over after Rhoda got greedy. Sandy's another one of those once very popular stars of the day who a few decades later is almost unknown. Hello Karen Valentine, where are you? I really had a crush on Karen.

Reader Blind: Many people assume that this still living A list in her heyday Emmy nominated Tony nominated female performer who specializes in family friendly fare is missing a body part. In fact, the body part is there, it just no longer functions due to a medical procedure she had. The reason people assume she is missing this body part started in an untrue rumor started by an angry producer. She was up for a really, really big film role early in her career but the producer making the movie demanded sex in exchange for the role. The performer refused and passed on the role. Later, when the producer heard about her medical issue, he started a story that she was missing the body part and he had used the created orifice for sexual gratification in exchange for roles in films and TV. I think the second version of the show was a close of Mary Tyler Moore Show?
