HBO
Hello Everyone,
I was thinking to myself a bit ago about how in May 1982, after 4 years, ABC, due to low ratings, cancelled "Taxi," after which it was picked up by NBC for Season 5 before being cancelled PERMANENTLY due to worse NBC ratings than its last ABC season. That being said, before NBC picked "Taxi" up, there was consideration that HBO would pick up new "Taxi" episodes, which got me thinking: IF HBO had picked up "Taxi" instead of NBC after ABC's cancellation, would it have been a bigger hit than it was in its final ABC season? Even if it wasn't, one thing "Taxi" would have been is HBO's first Original Series, even before future HBO hits as "Larry Sanders Show" & "Insecure." It's something to think about at least, isn't it? |
