Actually, Gregory Sierra had the recurring role of Julio Fuentes first on Sanford & Son (1972-'75). Then, later in 1975, he began playing Det. Sgt. Chano Amenguale (until 1976), on Barney Miller. And, yes, A.E.S. Hudson Street was short-lived (airing on ABC, Mar. 23, 1978 to
Apr. 20, 1978).

I loved his portrayal of Julio as well - and Mr. Sierra was more than able to hold his own opposite Redd Foxx and Demond Wilson. The scene where Fred, Lamont and Julio visit a Mexican restaurant is a riot no matter how many times I've watched it. I also wonder what it was like to work with Chico the killer goat.
