CHCH Spring 2023 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In about a month from now, CHCH will launch its new spring retro schedule. The only notable changes will happen in the mid-afternoon slots after "Pictionary" ends. Unfortunately, that show will remain on the schedule but the ones that follow it will be replaced by a few returning series that their fans will love to welcome back. This is how it will look as of next month:

10:00 AM to 1:00 PM - No changes.

1:00 PM The Andy Griffith Show - The Color Seasons - Watch at your own risk!

1:30 I Love Lucy (Replaces "The Lucy Show" on April 11.) - The Queen Of Comedy Lucille Ball maintains her hold on the 1:30 slot as she goes back from Lucy Carmichael to Lucy Ricardo.

2:00 Hawaii 5-0 (Replaces "The Love Boat" on April 5.) - Back by popular demand! I would guess that this is the most requested series by our Canadian "Sitcoms Online" regulars and the one that caused the biggest uproar when it was removed in the fall. It is now coming back and will remain for at least the spring and summer schedules so you can enjoy it all over again. It will return one week before the other new additions so you get a head start on them. On the downside, this means "The Love Boat" will end after 5 seasons out of 9. You'll have to wait until it comes back to see the rest of it.

3:00 That Girl (Replaces "The Brady Bunch" on April 11.) - One of my favorite series leaves to be replaced by one of my favorite 60s sitcom stars as Marlo Thomas returns as Ann Marie in "That Girl". I'll be looking forward to seeing it again.

3:30 - 6:00 No changes.

Also worth noting: The controversial LIV Golf Tour will take over the weekend schedule again this spring but, unlike last year, it will not pre-empt "Bonanza", which will remain firmly planted in its 1:00 time slot. The golf will follow at 2:00 pm. So there's more good news for you. Now if only that awful "Pictionary" would only go away for good!!

I was the one that was upset that Hawaii-5-0 was abruptly yanked. BUT I enjoy watching the Love Boat for the guest stars so what I didn't like about Hawaii- 50 being abruptly yanked I now don't like for the Love Boat.

Why was Dynasty added? Matlock I think it's near the end of it's run.

The Lucy Show is not the same after Vivian Vance left and all the kids disappeared. Was an explanation ever given on screen what happened to Vivian? When characters disappear without explanation, that hurts the show.

I think this will be the first time that I Love Lucy will be on in the afternoon.

Dynasty is terrible. I gave up on it quickly. Only 8 more seasons of that crap to air. Surprised by the exit of the love boat. I wish the Partridge Family was coming back. I am sick of Laverne and Shirley. I never watch Matlock. Puke. The declining years of Happy Days headlined by Joanie and Chachi are coming soon.....
