Default Question Season 4 and 5 Intro Theme Please help

Hi everyone happy holidays hope someone can help this is going to be long sorry. I need help with Seasons 4 and 5 of Silver Spoons I have not seen all of the seasons 4 and 5 episodes when it comes to the intro while looking online YT. I noticed a lot of fans said the season 5 theme let's call it the hard rock theme debut in season 4. I found this very interesting last Saturday Antennatv showed the Christmas episodes they aired 3 episodes of Silver Spoons one from season 4 episode 13 which has the season 5 hard rock theme. My question is for anyone that had seen the original episodes back in the day did the rest of season 4 have that theme or did they go back and forth. I know a lot of stations back in the 90s and today even tho they get the new prints for the tv shows sometimes they still have the wrong intro for example when Quantum Leap aired on the Scifi channel back in the 90s seasons 2-3 had the season 4 intro today when Scifi airs Quantum Leap seasons 2-3 have the correct intro. The A-Team which airs on Metv for the last 4-5 episodes of Season 5 they have the wrong intro this is why am hoping someone can help because I noticed Silver Spoons goes back and forth with the intros which are very confusing for me. I am trying to make sure if Season 4 did in fact use the season 5 theme for some episodes I included links on the bottom on what I mean which are the different credits as well I really hope someone can help thank you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHOnvkh8_N8 This is the intro that aired on episode 13 of season 4 fans say this was also used for the first couple of season 5 episodes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjzbb6TuTT4 Not sure when this aired before episode 13 or after because it's the season 5 opening credits that were used for the rest of season 5 if in fact the other opening was used for the first couple of episodes

I have a DVD set with all the original bumpers for season 4, taken from MeTV Chicago. On these the theme changed to the "rock version" sometime in the middle of season 4, so I'm fairly confident it was changed on the originals. I'm also fairly sure once it changed, the updated version was kept for the rest of season 4, and probably used for the first few episodes of season 5.

I know this is not the definitive answer--someone would have to have the originals recorded. I have (or had) an old set with some of those, but I think those were the early seasons.

Hi, Stevea thank you so much for writing I really appreciate it. Antennatv showed episodes 13 and 14 last Saturday as I said episode 13 is the first time the hard rock theme is used Episode 14 had it as well. I went looking on youtube last night to see if I could find some shows I saw someone posted all the 4th and 5th season episodes two weeks ago so I went thru all of them they are from Metv like the ones you have. I found something very interesting while going thru all of them Episode 15 of season 4 would go back to the season 4 original theme song after that the remaining season 4 episodes would use the hard rock theme. Season 5 for some reason episodes 6 and 7 would use the original season 4 theme which I found very strange on why they would go back to that theme for some reason I had it in my mind that those episodes must have been filmed for season 4 but shown for season 5 to give it a longer episode count LOL. After seeing those then I remembered when Nick at Nite showed Season 5 episode 6 Rick Moves out it does have the season 4 original theme. I just find it strange that for those two episodes, it would go back to the season 4 original theme here are the intros in the order they wear all first used in case anybody cares LOL again thank you Stevea.

Season 4 Intro 2 this would be used two more times in Season 5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjzbb6TuTT4&t=57s

I'd like to see an episode list that included production numbers, to see if season 4 episode 15 was produced much earlier than it was shown on NBC. We do know that networks shuffle the order of shows, and I suspect that episode was probably meant to be shown earlier in the season. That would explain the use of the original theme. It could have also been a post-production error, but that's a less likely explanation.

Production numbers are mostly missing on the internet, but are available for some shows; I Love Lucy (production dates) and Leave It To Beaver are examples. They should be available for all shows, since syndication was always in production order "back in the day."

With the season 5 episodes, I suspect you're right--that the episodes were held over form the previous year.

Hi, Stevea I didn't think about the production numbers that would make sense because season 4 episode 15 used the 1st season 4 intro and the two season 5 episodes used the 2nd intro which would explain a lot there has to be a way to find the production numbers.
