Ever since The Price Is Right debuted their famous Million Dollar Spectaculars I noticed that these The Price Is Right At Night specials have become very popular and I can't figure it out? Is it because CBS is trying to make a nighttime version of TPIR in the future and these specials are their stepping stone to that future dream? Because it seems that every so often The Price Is Right has a The Price Is Right At Night special and my mother happened to see part of tonight's special and she found it unappealing and I cannot understand why they exist and now even Let's Make A Deal has started doing the same thing too and I can see that this is the first step to a nighttime game show hour

I think that many people who grew up watching The Price is Right work during the day and watch the primetime shows when they get home. There's also a possibility of a much larger viewing audience in primetime than daytime.

CBS primarily uses primetime edition of The Price is Right as filler, it was a bridge between Survivor seasons this year.

I watched The Price is Right when I was sick, home from school or in the summer.
Sort of grew up with it. Another thing, I doubt it has changed that much since the 1970's. Still has that big ass wheel, plinko and whatever else. It hasnt changed except the host. Hot models, cars, home appliances, assorted crap and trips to Alcapulco. With hot models pointing at stuff. The Price is Right probably has an interesting audience, the unemployed, rich people who are blessed not to have to be employed, housewives, all day alcoholics, drug addicts, mental patients, the hospitalized, sick kids home from school or kids home from the summer. Bob Barker telling everyone at the end to spay or nueter their pets. Maybe if the owners put pants on their critters and taught them birth control, there would be no need. |
