Sounds like you look like a pretty damn good looking 51 year old. I have a bad case of hair loss, so my little afro looks like a tidal wave. I am a 49 year old (turning 50 this month) 213 pound African-American man who’s 5’8” in height. I have a few white hairs it appears.

Tidal wave? I'm trying to picture it. 213 lbs. sounds like a lot for your height. When I turned vegetarian, I could breathe so much better and I lost some weight. I don't know how much meat you eat, but I know red meat isn't always so good for you and pork is not good at all. Fried foods are also a no no. I eat a lot of fruits, vegetables and never any meat. My girls sometimes make fun of my "weirdo health food." LOL. Neither of them are vegetarians. They love fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, all the stuff that I haven't eaten in years. I don't even miss it one bit. So do you think you could ever go without meat? It isn't for everyone.

I mean, I’m not Biggie Smalls or Big Pun big, but I am kinda on the heavy side. Just picture a 5’8”, slightly dark skinned African-American man with a belly that sticks out kinda and is a bit wide, but not by a whole lot. Not sure if I could go without meat. It would be hard to do.

Do your girls favor you much? I’m sure they look absolutely pretty, just like you. I hope they’re not disrespectful/a handful for you.

Biggie Smalls sure was huge. Christopher Wallace, right? You're an inch shorter than my dad, but I can't imagine him super fat. He does have a kinda large belly, but he's 76 years old, a lot older than you.

My ex-husband used to have reddish hair too. It's almost all white now which makes the remaining red look like blonde hair. It's weird. It looks like he has blonde hair but he doesn't. It's really white mixed with red. Anyway, my girls also have reddish/brown hair. I'm the one with the reddish/brown hair. My ex had reddish/blonde hair and brown eyes. My girls have brown eyes with flecks of green. One of them favors me in the face, the other looks more like my ex. They are not really a handful, but every once in a while they can be bratty. Not too often though. I have no major complaints, just very minor ones. Both are good students. So for now, I am happy except I sometimes wish they spent less time on the stupid cell phones.
Anyway, I think you said you don't have any kids?

I believe Christopher Wallace was Biggie Smalls’ real name. And no, I don’t have any kids. I like living the childless life, although I don’t mind kids.

LOL @ your complaint about the cell phones. Do they ever go out and play much or are they on their phones more? Have they gotten to a point where they get uncontrollably angry? My nephew is like that. He’s a good kid, makes decent grades, is obedient most of the time, but sometimes he gets easily angry and throws temper tantrums like he’s 5. I think he might need to go see a therapist. I think he has issues regarding his home life. His mom and dad, which are my sister and brother-in-law seem to be a bit verbally abusive and toxic, especially his dad. It’s not the worst I’ve heard of or seen, but I think it’s affecting his mental state.

There is a rec. center in the area that the girls often go to so they do get a decent amount of outdoors time. The rec. center also has indoor activities. It's a nice place. In the summer, their father sometimes takes them row-boating and stuff. That's nice.
I'm sorry about your nephew being verbally abused and stuff. That might be why he's prone to have temper tantrums. How old is he?

Oh, okay. Nice that your girls spend some time outdoors.

My nephew’s 13.

My girls are also 13! (fraternal twins.) They will be 14 in May. It's a difficult age. Maybe your nephew just has growing pains but the verbal abuse you mentioned sounds upsetting. I hope he's okay. Are you involved much in his life?

I mean, I stop by the house from time to time, but that’s about it. I’ll also wish him a happy birthday when it’s his birthday of course. It’s just upsetting to hear someone tell their child “You better watch ya f*cking tone with me ‘fore I beat your ass right in front of everybody” or “He better not be crying or imma give him a reason to cry.” For instance, one time I was on the phone with my sister, discussing something with her while she was at the grocery store, and my nephew said something, and she responded by saying something along the lines of, “Don’t make me slap the piss outta you, right in front of everybody in this store!” and I could hear someone laughing in the background. I could only imagine how embarrassing that must’ve been for my nephew.

BTW, my nephew just turned 13 in December.

That all sounds very sad. Your nephew is probably a little too young to get a job so he could get away from the negativity in his life. The poor kid sounds like he needs a hug.

Yeah, I believe he’s too young to get a job. Have you ever watched The Carol Burnett Show? Well, if you haven’t, there were a series of skits on there titled “The Family” which was about an overly dysfunctional and toxic family (Eunice, Mama, Ed). The Mama character would later be softened and spun off into her own show: Mama’s Family. Well, anyway, those skits are a lot like what my nephew’s home life seems to be like right now. And his parents are “Mama” before she was toned down for Mama’s Family. You should check them out if you haven’t seen them, especially the one where Mama confesses to murdering Eunice’s pet rabbit and feeding it to the family and the one where Eunice goes to therapy.

Then your nephew must be the "Bubba" of the family!

LOL. Bubba. Actually, things might be that bad for him if not worse. I hope he’s not suicidal or anything.

That sounds very serious. He probably needs someone to talk to. Maybe you could suggest some counseling?

Good idea. I’ll think about it. I think it would be pretty good for him.
