Default Let's Bring ALF to Night Court

Bull Shannon was abducted by aliens in the original series finale, so he hasn't resided on earth for a few decades now. With how Richard Moll did not like his time on the show, he is not likely to return in this spin-off, and recasting him would be an awful move. But we could get ALF to come from Melmac and reveal the gravity there makes humans incapable of returning to earth, acting as a force field. Hopefully the puppet used on the original was saved and Paul Fusco could voice ALF again. To add even more aliens, the 3rd Rock from the Sun cast could also reprise their roles.

If something as absurd as a talking alien like ALF can save the rebooted Night Court sure why not.

If something as absurd as a talking alien like Alf is needed to save the rebooted Night Court it’s not worth saving.

But aliens already exist in Night Court canon from the og's series finale. They would exist even if this spin-off hadn't been made.

I remember (plus you recapped in the first post). But I'd hope if they last long enough and eventually throw enough money at Moll to get him to appear they'd retcon that part. Come up with some plausible explanation, a dream if necessary. I'd have to rewatch how the original was set up and staged to see what explanation I could personally come up with.

We've also seen Wylie Coyote, and some Star Trek people beam up. So Alf's no biggie.

It's a ratings hit, at least initially. So, why?
