Yes, and that is one of McKimson's best cartoons. There are no blackface parodies, and the mice are all voiced by their respective TV show actors.
In other words, there is nothing offensive with this one. Jack's wife Mary retired around this point in time (1958), and this cartoon was one of her final performances. She had stage fright, and voicing animation was probably in her comfort zone. |

"Fantastic Friday #64"

The Grey Hounded Hare (Bugs - 1949 - McKimson) - one of a few McKimson mid-century cartoons where Bugs is drawn with a consistent harsh-edge look.
Of Rice and Hen (Foghorn Leghorn - 1953 - McKimson) - misc. violence in this cartoon has been cut on various networks in the past, but it has been banned on the Turner networks due to Miss Prissy's suicide attempt near the beginning. We would not want young impressionable minds to adopt the idea of jumping off the barn roof. Rabbit Punch (Bugs - 1948 - Jones) Touché and Go (Pepé Le Pew - 1957 - Jones) Stage Fright (1940 - Jones) Go Go Amigo (Speedy, Daffy - 1965 - McKimson) Wet Hare (Bugs - 1962 - McKimson) (the running order on the MeTV schedule is all wrong--above is correct) |

"Yee Chowdy!"
(originally aired Mon. Jan 31, 2022) Bedevilled Rabbit (Bugs - 1957 - McKimson) The Mouse From H.U.N.G.E.R. (Tom & Jerry - 1967 - Levitow) We Aim To Please (Popeye - 1934 - Fleischer) Behind the Meat-Ball (1945 - Tashlin [uncredited]) - cartoon was completed after Tashlin left Warners, thus he is uncredited Strangled Eggs (Foghorn Leghorn - 1961 - McKimson) |

Next Saturday, will be a Valentines themed Bugs Bunny show. I don't know if they will be featuring another of the holiday themed specials that would air during primetime?

There are some really good cartoons next Saturday. Hare Splitter is a side splitter, and For Scent-imental Reasons won a 1949 Oscar and is infrequently aired. |

"Toony Toosday!"
Now, Hare This (Bus - 1958 - McKimson) Screwball Squirrel (1944 - Avery) What's Brewin', Bruin? (1948, Jones) - first "solo" appearance of the Jones-created characters, The Three Bears. They had debuted in a 1944 Bugs cartoon. This one retains its original Looney Tunes closing card, but is still sans titles and credits. Child Psykolojiky (Popeye - 1941 - Fleischer) - "Injuns" reference not censored Ah, Sweet Mouse-Story of Life (Tom and Jerry - 1965 - Jones [co-director Maurice Noble]) Rocket Squad (Porky, Daffy - 1956 - Jones) - story board by Tedd Pierce; possibly, this was supposed to be a Robert McKimson-directed cartoon |
