Default How do you think the Wackers stalker got around the blind spot during the stake out?

One of my favorite cases ever featured on Unsolved Mysteries was the Wackers case. One of the most interesting things about this case to me was the part where the perpetrator threw a rock with a note on the front porch when they were doing a stake out and was not seen. It's amazing that the perpetrator was able to do that without being seen. There was at least 3-4 people outside with Bill. So my question is how do you think this perpetrator was able to pull this off without being seen?

In my opinion , there might’ve been more than one perpetrator. Maybe one was constantly watching them & saw when the sons got into the rv & never actually got out. The other one is the one who did the dirty work so to speak. It seemed like a 2 man job

Dang, you beat me to it...

I’m not saying all the attacks were fake, but most (if not all) were. The Wackers were clearly looking for attention. The problem is the facts and logic don’t support their claims.

The only question left is who amongst the family was in on it.

I think the stalker may have been one of the family members supposedly watching the house (and I also think the Wackers themselves may have even eventually realized the ID but possibly have not wanted to publicly pinpoint it due to it 'family').

I don't tend to buy that it was fake. Dorothy was assaulted more than once with tangible injuries that would be dangerous for an old woman. I don't see Bill doing that to her or her to herself for that matter. I think it was more than one local person probably only a few doors down. If the reenactment of the "stakeout" was close to how it was actually set up, then anyone with even a slightly keen eye would've known the house was being watched at that time and from what angles. Shadows can hide a lot, and if the perp or perps were just a couple doors down I think it would be quite easy to hurl a rock over from a hidden spot.

The first attack the injuries were only superficial, the second one likely went to far from the plan. Simply one of the family involved in the abysmal stakeout dropped the note or whoever the accomplice was, who then hid under a crawl space. I believe Dorothy & multiple family members were responsible. I would love to know if there were any incidents after late 1993/UM airing the segment, my suspicion is the attention the people were seeking was achieved, also with video equipment starting to become better in quality & more easily affordable by the mid 1990's it was only a matter of time until it was installed to catch those responsible & they decided to call it a day.

Their house was right next to a wide open lot with a wooded area behind the house. Considering there were only 3 people watching the area, I'm not surprised that the guy got away undetected. It's even more plausible when you believe that it was someone known to the Wacker's.

Their story might have been believable had it not been for the “thief” returning items to the house over time. That fact makes this story ridiculous.

One thing that has always bothered me about the stakeout was why that night? How did they know something was going to happen? The incidents seem to have happened with months in between. Why would they even be doing a stakeout that night? Why think it was happening then?

That's how I wonder if it was a family member or someone close to them. Because let's face it, when you are doing a stakeout not knowing what is going to happen, you would have some down time during those 3-4 hours or whatever it was. Your eyes won't be peeled 100% of the time on the house. You will let your guard down. So it isn't hard for me to believe the perp did this right under their nose. My concern is how did anyone know it was happening that night?

I thought they just had someone out there most nights.

Anyway.. The answer as to how they got past.. My opinion. They were already in the house.

I'll bite on those who say it was a family member.. I think it might have been Bill or Dorothy themselves.

Easy, the people doing the stakeout were the same people committing the crime.

After seeing the Joanne Chambers/Paula Nawrocki Forensic Files, my whole opinion on this case has changed. It had to have been, at the very least, someone they knew doing the harassment. This was no random person.

Joanne Chambers/Paula Nawrocki is one crazy FF episode.

I concur that it was likely someone close to them causing the grief.
