He makes some good points. Mork & Mindy was a good alternative and I think All In The Family had run it’s course not really leaving much to carry a spin-off.

I liked it better than AITF because it was more relaxed and less of a dramedy.

I liked the overall vibe of the show better too, but we are probably in the minority. I think had they ended AITF sooner this show woulda been more successful.

This was a good program, but failure to land the plane kept it from being a great one. The first year felt like season 10 of All In The Family. The second season the entire show revolved around lovely Danielle Brisebois but by the next year Stephanie Mills was pretty much forgotten and it became a workplace comedy with the star being the bar itself. In the final season it was another new direction as a romantic comedy focusing on Billie and Gary.

Yeah the appearances of Edith along with the death definitely gave it a season 10 feel
