Default Anyone Watch Lingo on CBS

Last week, Lingo debuted on CBS after being seen in syndication in the late 1980s and recently on GSN, hosted by Chuck Woolery and later Bill Engvall.
The new version, the first on a major network and in prime time is hosted by RuPaul Charles and it's a show that I think will be a bigger success than it first two incarnations since more people will be able to watch it and the game involves the home viewer, which is very important to a hit game show. In his first game show hosting job, RuPaul is outstanding, bringing humor and good rapport with the contestants.

It was ok. My wife and I thought it was kind of boring.

I always liked Chuck Woolery on Love Connection. I thought he was a very good host for that show.

I think I'll skip a game show hosted by a transvestite.

I have never figured out how in the world Lingo became a popular game show on GSN after it's return since the original Lingo debuted in 1987. Because when I saw clips of Lingo after Catch-21 when I would watch GSN I thought it seemed like a game show with a lot of promise but I mainly think GSN's Lingo was just to make Chuck Woolery a Comeback Kid to game shows and I thought the gameplay was really odd because whoever came up with Lingo decided to combine bingo with Password and name it Lingo. Why they chose Bill Engvall as Chuck Woolery's replacement on the next Lingo revival on GSN i'll never know because Bill Engvall completely ruined Lingo and they also got rid of Shandi Hennessey as well and the ratings for that version of Lingo went downhill and it was cancelled after a few more episodes. I think with this new version of Lingo CBS is desperate to start a primetime game show block and seeing how it does in ratings Lingo might just be that first step toward that reality. How in the world RuPaul was chosen to host Lingo is beyond me and someone like Dave Foley or even Jim Parsons would've been better choices or even Jeff Probst could've done Lingo better as well
