It would be even better if the cartoon was shown in original form--but it probably won't be, since the only available non-Blue Ribbon reissue version is a 16mm copy.

In Bowery Bugs, Art Davis' only Bugs cartoon, "Shep" licks the fallen Brody, and (probably spits) and leaves, revolted by him.

Here's hoping for more of these "first times" on Toon In With Me in 2023--I actually prefer the cartoons in 4:3 aspect, as they are shown on Toon In With Me, rather than widescreen 16:9, as they are shown on Saturday.

"Yee Howdy: Where's The John?"

(originally aired Mon. Jan 10, 2022)

Don't Axe Me (Elmer Fudd - 1958 - McKimson) - as Leff said this is the only toon where Fudd is married--and his wife also has a speech impediment

Farm Frolics (1941 - Clampett) - first time on MeTV (on original airing in 2022); here's a pretty good titles recreation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLMcr8-OJjU

Country Boy - (1935 - Freleng) - very early Technicolor; another MeTV debut (originally in 2022)

Cattle Battle (Roland and Rattfink - 1971 - Art Davis)

Default Toon In With Me - Wed. 1/4/23 - New Episode 457

"NostalgiaFERA2: 2 Vast, 2 Curious"

(Nostalgiaferatoo highlights the career of Wally Cox)

Gorilla My Dreams (Bugs - 1948 - McKimson) - Director McKimson found his groove early with these mid to late 40s Bugs films, starting with Acrobatty Bunny, his first.

I Never Changes My Altitude (Popeye - 1937 - Fleischer)

Goggle Fishing Bear (Barney Bear - 1949 - Lah, Blair) - Barney conveniently has a car jack under the sea...and again, as in other cartoons, mammals can breathe underwater...

Sink Pink (Pink Panther - 1965 - Freleng [uncredited] [co-director Hawley Pratt]) - the Panther is voiced by Rich Little (one of the few times he speaks [one line]) and the hunter by Paul Frees

Chaser on the Rocks (Road Runner - 1965 - Larriva) - lousy animation...canned music...who could ask for anything more?

With that Nostalgiaferatoo segment on Wally Cox on Toon in with Me today, which included a snippet of The Underdog Show, I'm wondering if they have gotten the rights to that. And since much of the Total Television and Jay Ward stuff were interchangeable originally, I'm also now wondering about the Rocky and Bullwinkle material.

I'm watching it right now, so I will check that out. Bill Mumy (Lost In Space) will be on the Friday's episode.

It was literally just a few seconds, which is probably just fair use. But Total or Jay Ward material would be a good add on Saturday morning, maybe at 10.

Default Toon In With Me - Thu. 1/5/23 - New Episode 458

"Change Your Shorts"

Daffy Doodles (Porky, Daffy - 1946 - McKimson) - according to Looney Tunes Wiki Fandom, the original Looney Tunes titles exist in the UCLA archive.

Porky' Badtime Story (1937 - Clampett) - if this cartoon "kind of" looks familiar, you're probably thinking of the more-frequently-seen 1944 color remake, "Tick Tock Tuckered," where Clampett used Daffy instead of Gabby as the secondary character

Honeymoon Hotel (1934 - Duvall) - first color Warner cartoon; 2 strip Cinecolor.

The Mighty Navy (Popeye - 1941 - Fleischer) - Toon In With Me debut

Tweetie Pie (Tweety - 1947 - Freleng) - Freleng's first Tweety cartoon also won an Oscar. Tweety is slightly redesigned compared to Clampett's version, and in this film Sylvester is called "Thomas"

Default Toon In With Me - Fri. 1/6/23 - New Episode 459

"Fantastic Friday #60"

Knighty Knight Bugs (1958 - Freleng)

Drippy's Double Trouble (Droopy - 1951 - Avery)

The Cat Above and the Mouse Below (Tom and Jerry - 1964 - Jones [co-director Maurice Noble])

Two Gophers From Texas (Goofy Gophers - 1948 - Davis) - here's a titles recreation -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO-b2XOVRZ0

His Bitter Half (Daffy - 1950 - Freleng) - uncensored. This cartoon is a crack up, especially Daffy's gigantic gray spouse, voiced by Martha Wentworth

Default Bugs Bunny and Friends - Sat. 1/7/23

Bushy Hare (Bugs - 1950 - McKimson) - McKimson is still in the groove with this one, which was rarely seen until MeTV debuted it in 2021. The laughter starts when Bugs battles a native he calls "Nature Boy." On Nickelodeon the scene where Nature Boy thought he was repeatedly stabbing Bugs was edited.

The Cats Bah (Pepé Le Pew - 1954 - Jones) - another rarely-seen cartoon; from Looney Tunes Wiki Fandom, it was part of the final Looney Tunes episode on Nickelodeon, on September 11, 1999. ABC edited the alcohol and cigarette smoking near the beginning, although again per Fandom, CN showed it uncut

The Unmentionables (Bugs - 1963 - Freleng) - clever parody of The untouchables from John Dunn and Friz Freleng. This is Freleng's final Bugs short in the classic era.

A Cartoonist's Nightmare (1935 - King) - last seen on MeTV in January 2021; has recently been on MeTV+

The Music Mice-Tro (Speedy, Daffy - 1967 - Larriva) - one of three Speedy and Daffy cartoons produced by Format Films and directed by Rudy Larriva (the others are The Spy Swatter (never shown on MeTV) and Quacker Tracker)

Tweet and Lovely (Tweety, Sylvester - 1959 - Freleng)

Hurdy-Gurdy Hare (Bugs - 1950 - McKimson)
