Speculation of why Angie lost viewers since ABC never gave an explanation
This speculation was mentioned by Lee Winfrey in the May 1980 issue of the Charlotte Observer as to why Angie may have lost viewers and eventually cancelled
"Shuffle Around" "The true depth of Angie's decline is hard to fathom because ABC switched the show around so much, shuffling it through four different time slots on the schedule. It is possible many viewers lost track of the show as the network marched it around from Thursday to Tuesday to Monday and lately Saturday. Breaking the viewing habits is always a risky practice" I had to check for myself looked at every Philly Paper from January to April. After the show aired for 4 straight weeks on Mondays from Jan 14th to Feb 11th, it was taken off the schedule without any explanation and not aired again until Saturday APril 19th 1980. So of course there were no fans left by that point lol |
