Its a week for letting go. Eating leftovers and sleeping/loafing before the new year starts. I don't think that is a waste. I kind of like it.

![]() For pretty much the same reason, I'm glad I never really made a lot of sacrifices trying to live the life of a mainstream "white hat". Especially considering how it turned out with most authorities being riddled with vice and corruption...why let them have all the fun?

GJ: what are you talking about. Everyone over 80 is miserable. I don't see that for a mintue, we've done so much that there's not much left to do. I hope I'm still alive to see a new admin in 2024, time will tell. And for me to load up on a lot of junk isn't going to make me happier, probably make me sick.
And for those over 80 with some get up and go still left, more power to them I say. Hearing about a CA woman who just won 300,000 from a slot in Vegas, bet she's jumping for huge joy, no age given so I don't know how old this gal is. And then the next news thrown out is the upcoming 500Million lottery for tomorrow, I can't imagine dealing with those millions...talk about obscenities. Now the lottery is 640M I'm hearing, Obsence** |

That sounds pretty miserable to me. And, coming from a large catholic family, I've got a fair share of aunts, great aunts, as well as 2 grandmothers who lived well into their 80s, and if they were not miserable, I'd like to know what they called it. Like you, many of them were just bristling with advice, and then resentful upon discovering no one was really looking for their "expertise". And hey, I'm not just pointing the finger, I see people frequently repeating mistakes that I made years ago, and when I try to save them the grief, they pretty much demonstrate that they'ed prefer to learn the hard way.....so eventually I just figured why stress myself over nothing? skru'em! But the 80+ crowd that I know just seems to grow more bitter each year, understanding that no one is anxious to have them as an adviser. |

If it sounds miserable to you, that is your take on it. I'm making conversation. I don't live the most joyous busy rah rah life, been that route and retiremenet is another world. And yes this week between the holidays, is rather void more than ever, but for those still working, it's time off I guess. The school kids even get more than time than we ever got, and in spite of all the schooling these lost when the schools were closed...
When I was actively working we didn't get all the time off that goes on now. |
