I have somewhat been more interested in watching The Real McCoys than I used to be.
I cannot totally remember, although TRM’s Wiki is trying to remind me… One of our south FL stations ran TRM around the late sixties in early morning between NBC’s Today Show & their game shows in the early morning….IIRC, the theme and the credits I saw then seemed to be different than what’s being packaged now. I so wanna say that although the theme was the same, back then it added a little “shave-and-a-haircut” variation at the end. Also it seemed as if the earliest reruns shown may have had a vocal similar to the opening (lyrics shown on Wiki). That familiar-now instrumental closing (now not played on Laff) was only in latter episodes. Also, our station here (which was WPTV 5 West Palm Beach BTW) IIRC had the opening of latter episodes shown onscreen as just “The McCoys,” which CBS plastered on their morning-rerun opening in the mid sixties. All that being said…. Is there somewhere I can view these alternate deals? How about the DVD’s; are there little “extras” like that featured? Also were there integrated commercials where some of the cast pitched a product (like the Beverly Hillbillies did)? Brennan doing advertising (as Grampa) could be a hoot! Anyway, inquiring minds… cd |
