The upstairs apartment has no working A/C and must rely on opening window for ventilation and coolness. Does this mean that Jack's restaurant patrons - all 18 of them during a busy brunch must swelter in the heat to eat one of two menu offerings?
I have to ask the question, why spend several hundred dollars furnishing fancy apartment with wallpaper and paint that will become wrecked with fluctuating temperatures and humidity? Part of the plot revolves around Jack and Vicky complaining about road work 5 days a week. A big deal about not being able to sleep past 7am and that sets up a mini vacation to Acapulco, Mexico- they need to sleep! I suppose LA or Southern California is very efficient in that construction crews continue to work Saturday and Sundays. I know that it's part of Jack's character to be afraid of flying, but his continual groping of Vicky's legs and flight attendant skirt went too far. I mean here's Vicky trying to do her job and Jack has his hand all over over her thighs and lifting her skirt up. Apparently, Acapulco is such a tiny resort destination that the only hotel and has no rooms so Jack and Vicky have to share the sofa-bed in Mr. Bradford's VIP suite (this implied because he was staying to receive an employee of the year award). This last bit killed me. Jack and Vicky have no rest/sleep after the hotel nightlife partiers invade Mr. Bradford's VIP suite so they head to the beach in their PAJAMAS!!! Why not go to the beach in bathing suits? The average ocean temperature is above 80 degrees year round. |
