Default Will There Be Anymore DS Festivals?

After last year's Dark Shadows Festival in Tarrytown, NY, I wonder if there will be anymore festivals in the future?

I have heard some DS fans speculate that 2016 may have been the last festival to be held. I hope this is not true. It's great to meet DS fans from around the country and the world.

I suppose it depends if John Karlen, KLS, Lara Parker, David Selby, etc., wanting to show up at the festivals in the future.

Well, here it is nearly five years since I posted this thread (as Uncle Billy) and there have only been a few, smaller DS-related events held during that time.

For example, actress and author Kathryn Leigh Scott recently conducted a walking tour of Lyndhurst, the Jay Gould estate in Tarrytown, NY overlooking the Hudson River, where series creator Dan Curtis filmed both of the DS films, 1970’s “House of Dark Shadows” and 1971’s “Night of Dark Shadows.”

In addition, many of the surviving DS cast members appeared on YouTube for a Halloween reunion and a DS reenactment of “A Christmas Carol.” Both events were extremely popular with the loyal DS fans. It was especially great to see the long-too-absent Alexandra Moltke-Ives (Vicky Winters) and David Henesy (the irrepressible David Collins) on those two programs.

Although, with the advanced ages of the beloved DS actors, I doubt if we will ever see a huge DS event again in either New York City or Los Angeles.

Thanks for all the great memories, Dark Shadows!

How many are still with us? Lara Parker? KLS, mentioned above? Alexandra Moltke? David Selby? David Henesy? Kate Jackson? John Karlen? Nancy Barrett? Diana Millay?

I'm sure most of them are, but a few, I don't know. I do remember Denise Nickerson died with the last few years.

Lara and KLS were my favorites. I thought Thayer David and Grayson Hall were superb actors (although I think Frid's line troubles were catching for Grayson!)

Sadly, John Karlen, who was in his 80’s, died several years ago, as did Christopher Pennock (the evil Jeb Hawkes on DS), Diana Millay (Laura Collins, the Phoenix on DS), Michael Maitland (Michael, the Leviathan teenager) and Mitchell Ryan (the first Burke Devlin).

Of course, Joan Bennett, Jonathan Frid, Grayson Hall, Louis Edmonds, Dennis Patrick, Thayer David and Joel Crothers died a number of years ago.

Requiem aeternam.
