Default Holiday Giving

The panhandlers here locally seem to be out in extra forces. And I really hate to give cash because of the potential for abuse.

SO, I'm thinking about putting together some gift baggies, and just have them ready in the car to give out. Turkey Spam, a can of whole potatoes, some nice roast turkey gravy, and some pumpkin spice desert cakes, maybe Twinkies if I can find 'em?

Think this might do some actual good?

Very kind and thoughtful. I think it's a lovely idea.

The Turkey Spam is surprisingly good. I bought a can just to try it.
I dumped a bottle of this completely out into a pan, and then "rolled" the spam in it until all sides were coated, then popped it in the oven.

That looks like Mexican seasoning with the picture of the lime on the bottle.

It's lime and "medium" chili .....oddy recommended for on fruit....specifically for watermelon in fact. But I tried it on melon once, and was not impressed.

Do enjoy it on pork and fowl. Even cottage cheese.

It is an upgrade, IMO, from conventional "lemon pepper" spice.

On fruit? That sounds nasty! What I would like to try is those pumkin twinkies! I bet they're delicious!

Nice Gesture GJ..after decades of no Spam I bought some to keep some stock and I was pleased and to find so many types and yes the Turkey is good. I found out how well it's accepted in the Hawaiian culture.

Friend of mine has pointed out a glaring omission on my part. He said that since canned kernel corn is such an iconic component of can food drives, that if I failed to include a can, that my beneficiaries would likely miss it.

So, I'm adding a can of corn.
Not sure yet what I'm going to do with dessert...gptta be "pumpkin-spice" something.

What's funny about that, the local stores that stock Tajin keep it in the World Foods section of their stores, except Krogers. Krogers keeps it near their fruit and vegetable section.

Most likely yeah, if they are available in stock. I thought somebody said in another thread that they sell out quick

One thing the Tajin compliments extremely well, is fresh sliced avocado.

I just sliced a fresh avocado like you would "shoestring" frenchfries, and dusted those up generously with Tajin....and I couldn't stop eating them.

The thread title reads Holiday Giving....on this Giving routine I ended that one over 15 yrs ago...

On the panhandlers giving, I have no compassion anymore, it's gone. The Gubmint has thrown many millions at this and it goes on and on.

.
That surprises me. I'd have thought you might put together little gift baskets containing grape seed extract, and other items from your arsenal of holistic remedies, and give them to people as part of your "outreach"?

Opening channels for recruitment, etc
