Dennis Mitchell (Dennis the Menace) got spanked.

Larry Mondello (Leave It To Beaver) was always getting spanked whether his Father was in Cincinnati or not. According to Mrs.Mondello if Larry’s Sister would just get herself a man, than someone would be able to give it to Larry whether Larry’s Father was there or not. Mr. Clever though that would be a comfort.

227 Pearl was always Threatening to whip Calvins behind when he got out of line.

Amen whenever Chris got sassy Someone would throw him off the porch or push him out the door.

Jack gave it to Wayne a couple times on The Wonder Years (Original).

Schwartz from the movie A Christmas Story. For saying (FUDGE)! It wasn’t fudge though.

In the original Popeye cartoons, Popeye spanked his nephews Peepeye, Poopeye, Pipeye and Pupeye for not eating their spinach.

Yes. This was in one episode which by today's standards would be particularly weird. I mentioned this earlier in this thread or a different thread.

In the episode Popeye's nephews had to eat their spinach because Popeye (reluctantly and tearfully) spanked them for not doing so, but then after Peepeye, Poopeye ( a particularly odd name), Pipeye, and Pupeye ate their spinach they became strong and overpowered their uncle and they all gave him a spanking to put it mildly. You would have to have seen this episode to understand how odd it is by today's standards.

I am not sure if it was "The Danny Thomas Show" or maybe something like "Make Room For Daddy." I don't recall the name of the young girl but in one episode, she was talking a lot about an adult friend of hers who is some 6 feet tall (or so) and wears a very long Cossack-like coat. Danny Thomas' character thinks that the girl is making up stories and at first, Danny Thomas' character tries child psychology and tries spending more time with the kid and in one scene he is dressed in a baby bonnet and lets his daughter treat him like a doll of hers and the young girl hits him on the head with a pillow for crying too much but the girl still does not stop talking about her 6 foot tall friend and eventually Danny Thomas decides that it is necessary to spank the girl to set her straight and he calls the girl over and the girl knows that she is going to get punished so she very corageously brings over the hair brush and sets up the chair for her dad to sit on and place her on his lap and she willingly bends herself over his knee but Danny Thomas' character cant bring himself to do it and the girl keeps saying things that prevents him from giving the first swat . I vividly recall she said something like "I am little and you might break me" to which the audience laughed loudly. And then when Danny Thomas seemed most ready to deliver the first swat, the girl says "Fire one" to the which the audience also laughed loudly. (Of course it was probably a laugh track). Danny Thomas' character eventually just gets up and says something to the effect that it is impossible to spank kids now-a-days because you are made to feel too guilty about it. But then ultimately what happens is that the dororbell rings and the young girl goes to answer it and then she brings in her 6 foot tall friend in a Cossack-like coat and Danny Tomas sees that his daughter's friend is real and he has a very relieved and surprised look on his face and he shakes hands with the man and seems to realize that he himself was wrong for not believing his daughter and also he seems to think that he joined his daugheter in being childish by imagining such a person but nevertheless he realizes that he should not have been angry with his daughter and he realizes that he should be punished so he asks the 6-foot tall man in Cossack-like coat to sit down and after the man does, Danny Thomas gives the man the hair brush and then lies belly down on the man's lap and says "Fire one" meaning that he wants his daughter's friend to spank him for being a dumb dad.

Of course some of the descriptions of the scenes in these episodes may not be so exact.. I was much younger when I saw these episodes. Many I was not able to find in You Tube .

If I think of any more I might ask about them or describe them.

Hopefully someone will recall the episode name and be able to state whether it is in You Tube or somewhere else in the internet.

I can tell you about the Danny Thomas episode because I've seen it online. The show was called "Make Room For Daddy" in its first 4 seasons and "The Danny Thomas Show" afterwards and it was filmed in front of a live audience. The episode you described is called "Linda's Giant" and is from Season 7 which used to be found on YouTube but is no longer there. This reminds me of another episode from Season 5 that you may have seen called "Parents Are Pigeons" where the spanking is not seen but was definitely performed on both Linda and Rusty and it was well deserved for both. Rusty tells Linda about how their parents tend to be extra nicer to their stepchild and a little meaner towards their own children. This gives Rusty an idea and he explains to Linda how this can be used to their advantage so that they can get anything they want, in particular, a new baseball catcher's mitt for him and a new "Mama doll" for her. The plan works beautifully until their older sister Terry finds out and immediately tells a disbelieving Danny and Kathy about it. After that, Danny produces a pair of belts for him and Kathy to use. Once the kids appear, the belts go into action!

This is one of my favorite episodes from the series which I love to watch whenever I can find it online either on YouTube, Tubi, or Uncle Earl's Classic TV. As an added bonus, it's now even on TV! Canada's best retro TV station CHCH TV will have the "Parents Are Pigeons" episode of "The Danny Thomas Show" this Friday afternoon at 2 pm immediately followed by "My Three Sons", "The Andy Griffith Show", "The Odd Couple" and "Get Smart". Another reason to love living in Canada!

You describe a great deal about "The Danny Thomas Show" and/or "Make Room For Daddy" which I am not familiar with. I never knew that the characters in the show were meant to depict "step children" and "biological children" within one family, or that is what it seems you describe regarding the episode in which two of the children tried to get their parents to give them more presents because they were their real children not step children.
I was very young when I watched some episodes of the Danny Thomas Show and/or Make Room For Daddy and often the episodes were a bit too sophisticated in plot for me to understand them. The one about "Linda's Giant" had a very understandable plot for me.

But thanks for explaining the facts about the series.

In the episode of Community titled "Basic Genealogy", Britta gets a pants down spanking from Troy's very strict grandmother right in front of him. That moment is played for laughs with Troy crying like a kid "She's had enough!"

On the episode "Daughter-at-Law" of My Little Margie, Vern places Margie over his knee and spanks her right in front of her lawyer boyfriend.

In "The Accident - Part 1" of Diff'rent Strokes, Kimberly tells Willis and Arnold about a time she got spanked by her dad. She had buried him in the sand at the beach and walked off, forgetting him. When Willis asks if he was sunburnt, she responds with "Yeah, but his face wasn't as red as my behind was that night."

An almost spanking...
The season one episode "Katie the Cheat" of Gimme a Break! sees the Chief taking off his belt to spank Katie but she jumps over the bed and runs down the stairs where Nell gets involved and prevents him from spanking her.

We have allowed the government let children have more rights than adults and it was designed to be that. Yes, I am an advocate of spanking but do it out of love and not anger.
I went to a private school for K-6th grade basically ran by a witch, a mentally ill woman who had no business running a children's school. I used to get my ass beat by her several times a year for minor infractions. I absolutely hated her. This b.tch even knew when it was your birthday and gave one whack to the buttocks as a "love tap". Some of the other teachers could also give spankings, and one was to get hit on the front of your hands with a ping pong paddle.

I got beatings at home also, but only if I brought home very bad grades. Both my father and mother hit me with belts, flyswatters or wire hangers (painful). These people did love me and my father paid for my college and would have paid me to go law school or whatever. I was a disappointment to him.

In high school, paddlings were a form of discipline, but in my four years there, I was only paddled once, and it was like three "licks" and it wasnt like getting your ass beat like the headmaster witch from elementary school.

I remember, probably from the first episode, Mama asked Rerun for his belt to spank Rog, and when Rerun took off the huge belt, Mama said "I want to whip him, not hang him!" and started laughing, so Rog didn't get his spanking, at least during the episode.

Schwartz didn't say it. Ralphie told his mom that Schwartz had said it because he didn't want to tell his mom he'd heard it from his own dad.

Did Angela Cartwright ever get a spanking on Lost in Space? I know she did on The Sound of Music.

I don't know about Lost in Space, and I don't recall her getting spanked on TSOM.

She did not get spanked on The Danny Thomas Show, but very early on in Make Room for Daddy, Rusty Hamer either did or came close.

It was when Captain Von Trapp used his whistle signals on the children when they first met Maria. Brigitta was reading and not paying attention, so he spanked her bottom with the book.
