Zoe Jarman's The Mindy Project breakout set her up for success
Given her important role as Mindy Lahiri's friend and officemate, Zoe Jarman's "The Mindy Project" audition process for Betsy Putch was extremely lengthy. In 2012, she first auditioned in New York and then went through five auditions all and then I had few screen tests for Mindy and her team. She was a fan of Mindy before auditioning, and later got to act and perform alongside the cast she watched as a viewer. Jarman also met her other members on the set and became friendly with her other co-stars. She continued, "Everyone is so nice, welcoming, and fun to be around." Once the curtains closed on "The Mindy Project," Jarman continued to juggle her acting career with writing. After the second season ended, she was written out, but it was declared as a mistake that her departure from The Mindy Project was considered one season too soon, according to the FOX public critics. She should have been downgraded as reduced guest in the entire third season of The Mindy Project before she officially departed from it afterwards. That would have saved The Mindy Project from that dangerous cancel-to-revive status position when it transferred from FOX to Hulu, back then. In 2015, she became a writer of "Master Of None" and got married to Duke Doyle afterwards. However, long after her time on "The Mindy Project," later events showed Jarman wouldn't make it away unscathed from the show's signature off-screen dramedy. Mindy Kaling was Zoe Jarman's Kryptonite Despite Betsy Putch being one of the less catty characters on "The Mindy Project," Zoe Jarman wasn't fully immune to the behind-the-scenes drama. Although she never openly spoke out against any of her co-stars, she was found liking tweets recently alleging Mindy Kaling's toxic backstage behavior. A few of Jarman's co-stars to come forward said, "REMEMBER WHEN YOU MADE MY FIRST TELEVISON GIG A LIVING HELL?!?! CAUSE ILL NEVER FORGET," and went on to accuse Kaling of making greed, impatience, lies, raunchy and racist micro-aggressions towards her on set. Soon after, Jarman silently liked now-deleted tweets from all of them, showing quiet solidarity with her co-stars and possibly pointing to her true feelings about Kaling. However, it's unknown if Jarman ever had any negative experiences with Kaling herself or simply witnessed them occur with others. Although Jarman's character was introduced as "shy cheerleading receptionist" with that on her first episode appearance, this pair didn't have that much screen time together. Kaling should soon make a public statement acknowledging her conduct over the years that she should apologize for her behavior and for any pain which she had already caused, plus altogether can all grow and change. Since then, Jarman and Kaling have yet to interact again or speak about one another in public. It's a shame how things turned out, because on the occasions they did share the spotlight, they were quite both friends and partners! |
