I liked season one a lot, despite it being a tad unorganized. It seemed like the show was "finding itself" then.

In the first season Whitley was just the stuck up antagonist to Denise, at least in later seasons they made her a more likeable even though she still had the stuck up qualities. To end this rant, I didn't like how everyone had to revolve around Denise in the first season, even though that was the whole point. I loved how they revamped the show after she left and made it more realistic and identifiable.
I agree I always liked the show but when Debbie Allen came on the scene, she revamped the show in a way that lasted until 92-93. Now yes Whitley and Dwayne were funny even in the dorky/stuck up way yet when these characters appeared the next season they developed more and you couldn't wait to see what they were up to. Denise was cool but I always loved her and Lisa on the Cosby show even after she married Martin. but i think it would have been hot and symbolic if Denise would have been at the going away party at the pit when D&W were going to move away.

No. I liked both Whitley and Dwayne better in the first season. In fact, the first season is my favorite. And I loved Denise on the show. She is my favorite.
